Electro has been depicted as blue before. And in the Movie he happens to wear a hoodie to hide his face. As long as he doesn't suddenly get an updated hoodie outfit, with yellow lines, I'm not seeing an issue here.

Didn't the TASM suit also look eerily familiar to a costume design from the comics? Some Origin Mini I think. Didn't that turn out to be coincidental as well?

Marvel owns Electro and all versions of him that have appeared under their banner, which includes that depiction. Sony purchased the rights to depict Electro in the movie, which includes using any and all Marvel-owned depictions as influence. No threat of litigation.

Edit: the character in the picture isn't a version of electro like I thought - it's apparently a DC character.

Correct me if I'm wrong but...I thought Foxx described the suit in an interview? Something about coils...etc etc. Like everyone has already stated, this is not the suit. This is merely a troubled Max Dillion trying to contain his curse.

You're right. Those are just his regular clothes. There's no way a Hollywood blockbuster is gonna let their main villain's main wardrobe to be a hoodie, denim, and sneakers.
He's gonna look badass with his suit, the makeup we see, and CG. Plus in 3D.

The hoodie isn't even part of the final SUIT. He's just wearing it to stay incognito. That design looks like the Ultimate Electro + A hoodie with yellow stripes. The hoodie in the set pics is dark gray, not jet black and leathery looking anyway.

Maybe he is beaten by Spider at first, is locked up in Ravencroft but then breaks out and steals a guard's uniform.

Blade 2 comes to mind. But I agree - this is not his final suit.
