Because yellow blended to much with the green screen,so they gave him blue makeup and digitaaly turned the blue makeup into yellow.

Seeing that Electro will be a physical being as opposed to the Lizard being all CGI, hopefully we see Spidey really fighting him physically. I know there will be CG, but I'm hoping to see some real hand-to-hand combat.

I'm not expecting much. Electro isn't a physical opponent. Sure, he'll occasionally throw a few punches, but he's mainly a zapper.

don't go getting some peoples hopes up that he will be yellow, because its incredibly unlikely and grasping at straws

yeah i really hope so. tasm1 was a massive letdown in terms of hand to hand fighting.

the lizard is an opponent that spider-man should feel the need to pummel on with punches and kicks and throws etc, but all he did was dodge and shoot webs.

so disappointing. we could have got a real display of spider-strength.

now, i am left wanting it in the sequel, even though it is kind of hard with electro. if it was so straightforward to make spider-man punch the lizard and they didn't do that, then i worry that tasm2 will be a dodge-fest once more.

i pray webb realises a way to get spider-man to show off all of his abilities and powers. get spider-man to vs. a bunch of thugs. get spider-man to use wrecking ball style attacks against electro (or use electro as a wrecking ball in and of himself), who he may not be able to hit without getting electrocuted. get spidey to wear web gloves so he can knock the snot out of electro. get electro to not just zap, but throw charged punches now and then if spidey gets close.

spidey pulls his punches, so it wouldn't break the logic of the film to have electro getting pummelled a bit, before getting back up. hell, maybe they could explain that his powers give him enhanced invulnerability/durability somehow.

ideally, spidey should fight like he does in tssm cartoon. check out his backflip kick combo against kraven when they're fighting in the park. we need awesome flourishes like that now and then.

if we have to wait for the third film to get a villain spidey can punch, kick and throw (green goblin) i will be really disappointed.

^ I agree with just about everything you said Repulsor. Couldn't have said it better myself. We all have these wishes for seeing different aspects and styles of Spidey's combat on screen, almost like we have a vision of our own.
I feel like the closest we've gotten in TASM is the fight he has with SWAT when he's unmasked. The acrobatics were cool.
Now that Webb has seen what TASM is as a finished whole product, I'm sure he knows what to do better, and how he should do it. I'm not keeping my expectations super high, but I trust in his plans.

:)

spidey has the most interesting powers and power balance (not overpowered, not underpowered) to me, so i really want to see him done justice.

Agreed.I still want to say that the combat in TASM was not bad but could've definately been better. It was definately better than Raimi trilogy where Spiderman mostly fought with his hand. The only time Spiderman used his web was to throw or grip objects.

I also think TASM2 will have different kind of web attacks which will be unique and different from TASM.

I also want them balance his web attacks with variety of regular combat attacks using punches and kicks.

One of the best action scene of Amazing Spiderman was the high school scene where spidey makes a cacoon out of lizard. It was so well done I hope they do it for this movie maybe for regular thugs like he used to do in Spiderman 2: The game. Also,he should use web punch where his fist is wrapped in web and then he hits it.

he fought better in the raimi films imo, simply because he didn't just dodge and shoot webs.

the way he moved in tasm was better however. this is in part what bugs me; imagine how good it would have been to have him move like that + have him follow it up with an actual offensive maneuver.

tssm combat should be what they aspire to creating on screen; perfect mix of all of spidey's powers, smarts, and environment exploitation.

ps.

the cocoon thing was a bit too spider like for my taste. he's spider-man after all, not man-spider. and it was just another example of him using his webs over his brawn. 90% of the time his webs did nothing to phase the lizard, and that epic cocoon? well, it slowed him down for like 30 seconds tops.

once you get over the novelty and great animation of the cocoon bit, it's pretty lame. if it were me i'd have spidey lash out with a quick yet powerful combo, which stuns/hurts lizard enough for spider-man to do his cocoon trick.

we could have had our cake and ate it too, but instead all we got was the amazing dodging guy plus web-subdues (majority of which were useless)

Why doesn't his spider sense work in that vid?

nah the cocoon thing was cool, so im going to disagree with you completely.

posted the vid because it has the backflip combo thing i was talking about. that's the only reason.

lol i don't mind if anyone disagrees. i will say i was impressed the first time i saw it.

my complaints with the fights in tasm are much more to do with what wasn't there than what was.

I'll agree that the fights in ASM weren't as amazing as they could be because they wasn't as much hand to hand fighting, but thinking about it, they weren't completely absent. At least during the school fight, I can understand the rationale behind Spider-man not throwing any attacks at the Lizard (though he does attempt a punch before suiting up). For most of it he was trying to get through to Connors human side. It also didn't help that the final had a T-minus countdown. Overall, I think the length of the fights was the main downside.

the school confrontation was as pretty much a straight up fight as could be. lizard literally came there to fight peter. i get that he wanted to get through to connors, but a few punches and kicks here and there would have been appreciated.

eventually, peter gave up trying to get through to connors and straight up fought the guy; except he relied way way way too much on webs to do so.

"okay so you don't want to talk" - first indication that peter was transitioning from trying to reason with him, to fighting him (btw, i don't see how the two need be mutually exclusive; tough love anyone?)

"don't make me have to hurt you" - another indication.

"someone's been a bad lizard" followed by the pose - full acceptance that spidey was fighting the lizard.

in the cinema i was like, yes, now it starts! except the next cut is the stan lee sight gag. while this was awesome, it came at the expense of a good straight up lizard fight. i would, like you said, have liked it to be longer. have the two duke it out across the school (see the venom school fight in tssm for an INFINITELY better realised fight scene) and end it with the stan lee cameo. but nope, we get short changed.

it's a pity that peter using the table as a wrecking ball was in the background during stan's scene. wasted opportunity imo.

so yeah, for these reasons, they easily could have done more hand to hand fighting in the school fight. it was THE opportunity to show spidey in his element.

i 100% agree about the final battle though; spidey clearly was not there to engage the lizard, he needed to get to the ganalli device.

I'm not really a fan of what I'm seeing. I would've preferred Electro to look more normal. Maybe it'll grow on me or look better in the film. We'll see.

it's like everytime we complain about a villain, they take a hint and use that with the next villain whether it's appropriate or not

"Venom is too small" => "ok, how about we make Lizard huge?"
"The Lizard is too computer generated!" => "We hear ya, we'll go balls out with prosthetics!"

webb said he wanted spidey to be like a practical joker and i quite liked how he was trolling the lizard with webbing, i don't think he wanted to hurt connors and wasn't really a time when peter wasn't trying to talk connors into stopping apart from the end when stacey showed up

you could take that as peter using webbing more because he is still learning possibly

Why doesn't his spider sense work in that vid?

why would it? does peters spidey sense go off everytime a member of he blue man group are around?

hmm.. actually WHY DIDN'T IT GO OFF!!!

but in all seriousness there was nothing happening to make his spidey sense go off

electro looks cool though =)

I thought the fights in TASM were well done. To be fair, all of the Spidey films have had amazing fighting scenes.

Dude... what exactly is "normal" when it comes to Electro?

Pretty much every fight scene in SM2 was awesome, and the same goes for TASM. Can't wait to see how they are handled in TASM 2.
