I'm pretty much fine with all of the tattoos save the forehead one. Fortunately I can use my imagination and just think it away.

It's barely noticeable half the time.

It's like seeing an attractive girl, but noticing a mole or birthmark or even a gap in her teeth that you can't take your eyes of :o
Or a 50+ inch television screen with a scratch on it... your attention is always drawn to it after first noticing, spoiling your sense of appreciation and enjoyment.

I feel positive about tats on the Joker. They put them on him for a reason, hopefully.

They feel like something that the joker could do. And the forehead tat, is such a fine script its hardly visible in motion, it actually only looks prominent in promo pics where its darker like on the official poster.

Honestly, at this point, even the forehead tattoo doesn't bother me one bit.

He looks his best when he's with Harley. Their looks really compliment each other.

The ugly grillz are the most distracting, and it's not really something you can just "imagine" away.

I still don't like the tattoos, probably never will. But funnily enough, I'm totally fine with the grillz. It wouldn't be surprising if this Joker lost most of his teeth, after going a few rounds with Batman.

I never minded the tattoos or grillz when we saw that first pic of him. And all the pics since I just love them even more, especially in the footage we've seen.

I agree 100%. I might be one of the only ones but every time I see the joker in these trailer shots, my eyes go directly to the stupid forehead tat. The grill makes sense though if batman knocked his teeth out.

I still think that damaged tat was Leto's idea.

His Joker really looks like a Cartel leader or a Russian mobster.

I don't think so. The costume designer or whoever does this obviously has a thing for tattoos, almost everyone has them and Harley has some on her face too.

ultimately its ayer's call, so i'd guess it was his decision.

Ayer and his crew are working with a recent Academy Award Best Actor... I'm betting Leto had some strong input into the design of the character he is playing.

I don't know if Ayer has talked about this but has anyone else thought that maybe they're only using the Joker for scenes prior to the present day plot? (Harley's origin) He could have an entirely different look for scenes set in present day if that's the case. Doubtful but who knows. (he'll still have the lame tatts no matter what but it's just a thought.)

I'm more tempted to say it was all Ayer because he's known for that gritty street vibe. Leto had a hand in molding his performance like Heath did for TDK, but I don't think he had much input on the visual aspect.

First time post here.

I have thought about the grill situation with Jared Leto as the Joker, and while I am perfectly fine with it...has anyone given thought to how he got it? Is it possible that Batman knocked his teeth out? if you notice...the grill doesn't cover all of his teeth on the top row.

I am also curious as to how the Joker going into the chemical vat with Harley is going to change him???

I am beyond excited about this movie...I think casting Jared Leto for the Joker is such a genius casting choice. I have wanted for a long time for them to do a Suicide Squad movie...What a great time to be alive! :)

Interesting. That could actually take care of the lame tattoo problem. lol

Welcome aboard.

I don't think the chemical bath affects Joker himself too much. I believe it's all about Harley and giving her a taste of it. We've seen scenes of Joker with, presumably, post-chemical Harley and he still has the tats.

Unless the tattoos have a purpose like others have been saying...its hard without seeing the film to criticize things that don't make sense to us now.
As mentioned, I have 0 problems with the tattoos as I think they had to his character...we are talking about a modern day joker...if the Joker was real and in this day and age...chances are, he would have tattoos of some sorts.
This might not be up for discussion in this thread, but I wonder what we will see in BvS that relates to SS?

I think the joker is going to look different throughout the movie...I noticed that in the scenes where he is torturing Harley in what appears to be Arkham...he looks a bit different in his face than he does in some of the other shots in the trailer...

I think the period in time he jumps into the vat with harley is in the beginning of their relationship at harleys transformation. We have evidence of this because we've seen set photos of joker and Dr. Harleen quinzel wearing the same pink shirt (joker) and blue shirt (harley) that we see bleeding and shredding into the chemicals.
We can assume that harley will emerge pale skinned and crazy and joker will have his tattoos still because we've seen them in the trailers and on set as joker and post transformation harley. This idea that jumping into the vat will magically wash away the tattoos is silly imo.

Do you think that Harley gets pushed in by Joker and then he dives in after her? or do you think Harley goes in on her own and Joker goes in after her and bring her out?
