I can't in good conscience agree with that sentiment. If this were Maggie we were talking about, I'd let it slide. But Jake? Dude is as versatile an actor as they come.

Ok maybe in recent years, I wouldn't know because I've only seen a few of his things. However in "Zodiac", "Donnie Darko" and "Brokeback Mountain" he was average at best and not much else for me.

Well, you really shouldn't be using outdated examples to base your opinion on his acting. Anyway, I don't see how a 'Jared Leto as the Joker' thread derailed into a Jake Gyllenhaal discussion.

^^ Why not? I can look at Jack Nicholson in a movie like "Five easy pieces" and compare it to a performance from decades later in "The Departed" and he's still a great actor.

I didn't like this movie but he was amazing in it, which given how I didn't like the film was even more impressive, that he managed to create something this memorable there. He was also great in BrokebackM, as others said Nightcrawler and Enemy, which is hugely underseen

I thought the movie was really great. One of the best thrillers of late. JG really brought intensity to the role I never saw before from him.

I'm not a big fan of cartel stuff. Golden chains, canes and ****. I mean, I'm OK with it, but I think classy or clownish stuff fits Joker more.

Yea..and thats the exact reason they are showing you the cartel stuff because its something different. You'll get classic Joker but you'll also get something else. Tough break

He definitely wears all kinds of stuff in the movie. Mob suits, pimp suit, clown stuff, tuxedo... The reason I'm OK with pimp outfits is Harley. She wears similar stuff. So Joker doesn't really look out of place.

Of all the costumes Joker wears in this film, the tux is my favorite. I still like the other consumes a lot too. Just saying this one is definitely my favorite. Would love to have a good detailed action figure of this.
