this alone is ten times more intimidating than the entirety of Leto's screentime.

We cant really compare Leto and Ledgers Joker because a lot of the greatness of Ledger's Joker came from the absolutely brilliant writing.I think performance wise they were both different and interesting takes.Very eager to see how Leto does with better script.
As said didn't say Leto was definitively better than Heath, we got to see so little of him. But he is more animated and more over the top. So I can see him when the focus is on him topping Heath when and if given the chance.
Mark and Heath, no question - Mark. Mark has kidnapped a CHILD Robin, given him electric shock therapy to turn him into a little Joker. Mark has paralzed Barbara Gordon, not to mention every single thing he doee in the abandoned amusement park in Killing Joke.
It's no contest.

Pretty sure a bus full of dead kids would have earned the movie an R rating.
I can understand going for camp in this more, comic-y film universe, but the things Snyder/Ayer/Leto added to this incarnation to the Joker were just so inconsequential and or felt unoriginal. They added nothing to his already paper thin characterization. Of course better writing helps, but Leto's performance in this film just feels incredibly superficial.Leto's was pretty woefully written as it goes, but I'm struggling to see much more to his performance beyond more nastiness and weird psycho stuff, even in a longer, darker cut.
...all of which is piss easy for any actor worth his salt to pull off. Ledger wasn't a genius because he knew how to do scary. He was a genius because he knew how to do believable. Leto's Joker is a two dimensional nutcase in a fright wig. He's perfectly acceptable for the style of movie he's in, but is without that undercurrent of true malice and verisimilitude (sorry, had to use it) that Ledher had . Leto doesn't have dead eyes like a shark, with a smile underneath. That's The Joker.
Mark hasn't done ****. His voice has.
When we talk about Hamill's Joker, we talk about the animated series (BTAS, Justice League) and the early feature films like Mask of the Phantasm. Killing Joke is kind of irrelevant because it wasn't HIS Joker, it was just him doing the voice of comic book Joker.

Jared seems displeased with all the cuts. But he also has said it's the most fun he had in a role and how he really wants to take on Batman, so not trying to be overdramatic here

Kyle, are you the chap I was talking to a while back who is a huge fan of The Amazing Spider-Man 2?
I stand behind that film and will continue to stand behind that film. It was like a Spider Man comic come to life PLUS it was the first to get the whole orphan psychology right on the money from personal experiences. Funny, to try to prove a point all you can resort to is how I have difering opinions rather than offering anything up. What's more of a joke? Someone with different minority opinion or someone who can't state anything or try to make a point?

Ehh.I think Leto has great potential.I didnt think he was one dimensional at all.Although I do agree it seems that way because of the script.I think he has a very interesting and different take on Joker and I'm hoping to see the deleted scenes and more of him.
I'm not trying to prove any point. I thought you looked familiar, and was wondering if you were who I thought you were. I admit your minority opinions here are what sparked my memory of you when you were attempting to defend that woeful excuse for a Spider-Man movie.
To be fair this would be just a 20 second clip in Suicide Squad.
In that case neither has Heath, just those writers and Nolan.
Ah, sorry for jumping the gun on that. Others have used that against me in the past to try to paint me in a negative light and avoid stating anything beyond that. So, my mistake.
