I'm with others when they say they wouldn't miss Leto's Joker should he never pop up again.
I found every Joker scene lacking and cringe-inducing. I was backing Leto all the way, but he just didn't pull it off.
In Azarello's Joker novel he's far more of a mob boss than straight up anarchist, & Batman '89 shows him in a very similar light, especially his pre-Joker days. Leto's version, IIRC, took a lot of inspiration from the aforementioned novel, so those choices make sense in that regard.
That's the one thing that I honestly really disliked.I liked Jokers grill and tattoos, but I wasn't loving the scenes of him coming off as a cheesy night club owner dressing like a pimp. I honestly didnt get that; is there a history of Joker being an insane mob boss like Falcone?

As I sit here watching B'89 I keep thinking about everyone who complained about Leto's Joker chasing after Harley and wonder if they've completely forgotten about Nicholson's Joker chasing after Vicki Vale for most of the movie (even if it was in a far more creepy/stalker-ish context) because he was so intrigued by her.
That's the one thing that I honestly really disliked.
The club owner thing.
That was too much.![]()
Yeah, it was the only scene in the film I didn't care for.
Seemed pointless and Joker came across as an idiot.
man, i gotta say, as someone who really appreciates the direction they went with his look (except for the damaged tattoo but that ain't no dealbreaker for me) ... All the tattoos were so pointless because they were never adressed - or even really showed.
Ryan Gosling turned it down. No surprise. He picks good movies. He would've been amazing
I think Jake Gyllenhaal should be Joker if Leto is out
