So we were fine with the idea of Joker not just happening to be permanently clown-colored, but taking steps to cultivate this look. That's the Joker everyone says will never be topped because of performance.

Yet even though makeup and hair dye to get the twisted clown criminal look is a-okay, using tattoos, a one-time sitting that would result in a permanent representation of this look he's going for, THAT'S unreasonable according to some fans.

Believe me, at first the ones that now loved that representation acted the same way as they are right now

I think even Zombie would make the tattoo's look at least aged or dirtier. The tattoo's look way too "professional." Those aren't the tattoos of a deranged man. Those are the tattoo's of a dip**** who has made repeated trips to his local tattoo artist in an attempt to appear edgy.

Yeah, I don't like the tattoos. Too corny. Especially the forehead tat. That is something a 14 year old who hates their parents would dream about getting while falling asleep to their My Chemical Romance album.

The only good thing about this picture, is the purple glove, which hints at a suit in the future. I want to see what this Joker looks like in his full get up. Please don't let this be his full get-up. I've been so hopeful about Leto. I hope they don't bog down his portrayal with a terrible design.

Wasn't the first image of the Ledgers Joker just his face shrouded in darkness? It wasn't as much a reveal as this first look. I do agree with you and I posted about a hundred pages back that the performance will be the big decider here. Still can't help but be annoyed by the look.

Everyone was hating on a close up face pic that didn't even show his hair or his purple suit or anything else. This is totally different. It's showing hair, body, tattoos, teeth etc.

They really are I have always said it. It's just a way for fans who don't like something to make it into what they want it to be. But what's the point? It's not going to change what is already done and what will be shown on film. Are they print out their manip and frame it and act as if that is all that exists? Haha I agree with you it's silly, pointless and a waste of time.

Technically not a grill. They're false teeth he got, probably from getting punched in the face by Affleck's Batman so many times.

I agree that the silver is jarring at first, but I'm much more forgiving of that than I am the trying-too-hard tattoos.

And even the body ones would be covered up by clothing.

So literally get rid of only the dumb face tattoos and I'd be good to go pretty much, if that was my only choice.

That's my feeling as well. I hated Ledger's Joker design when it was revealed and I hated Ledger's casting to by the way. And I still don't love the design but his performance was aces so whocares?

I wouldn't have went with this revealed Leto-Joker design but all I can do is remember my reaction to Ledger's Joker design and that keeps me waiting for the actual performance to judge fully.
