ITT for the next month: "DC doesn't have a plan. ", "Oh, maybe they do but it looks different from Marvel's so that's not actually a plan".

Also, Lol @ the people who haven't seen iterations where Joker's teeth are completely ****ed up. He's regularly shown with yellowing, disgusting teeth. They've gone for something similar. Kudos, once he's in a suit he's going to look fantastic.

Omg.. totally unexpected. I can't even critique, I'm just so ****ing stoked they released a Joker pic :wow::funny:

I think an appropriate response is... insane laughter :awesome:

Nolan had a fresh take, and still kept the Joker. Enjoy it if you want. I'll get off the train here. Especially considering I haven't been feeling this for a while.

You know, when I saw the first official image of Heath Ledger as the Joker, I was about as upset as many people are here. Do you remember that first look, the really close up shot of his face? It was our confirmation that he was wearing caked on make-up, not bleached skin, and that he had a smile carved into his face. Just sayin'.

Personally, this isn't really my cup o' tea, but we'll see how it turns out. Maybe it's because I've given up hope on a solid, cohesive DC live-action universe, that I can view a film like this as just one director's interpretation of the character's, as opposed to the sole, official live-action version of that character, like in the MCU.

Yes, the Fiege who signed off on the best interpretation of The Mandarin ever done, exactly.

There, you have a group of creators boiling a character down to the bare essence of what makes him work and what makes him interesting, and reworking all of the aspects of the character that don't work (the corniness, the stereotyping, etc.) and reworking them into a strength that enhances the character (turning it into somewhat self-critical social satire).

As opposed to aping Marilyn Manson's style for The Joker, which is kind of lazy, and including a crappy forehead tattoo that says "damaged," which is just laaaaaame.

:lmao:

Even more excited to see how the rest of the characters will look.

I don't know what you are talking about. I have no problem with people not liking the forehead tattoo. I just thought your argument about it over-telegraphing that Joker is crazy was a silly argument.

Sorry I offended you. This is clearly an upsetting moment for you. I apologize.

Yeah nobody's upset. You're just kind of an ass.

I love Darth, I'm just a little taken aback by how nerd rage-y he seems about this.

Take away the tattoo on his forehead and the grillz in his teeth, and I would be head over heels in love with this new Joker picture and reveal.

Those two things alone put such a damper on it for me.

I'm not sure it lacks a Feige, everyone else who's involved right now may just be okay with it. I doubt they just would allow him to do it if they didn't like it. Not really my thing though, it's...eh. Not what I was hoping they'd go with and I feel that the tattoos are overdone (especially the damaged one) but I'm just hoping I'll adjust to it with time.
When I say they laack a Feige, they lack someone to past the smell test. It isn't all about a "plan". It is about someone who looks at such decisions and signs off.

But we can talk about putting on a suit and stuff, but that tattoo in the middle of the forehead isn't going away, unless they get rid of it.

Different set up over at WB.

He reminds me of James Franco from Spring Breakers.

The first official picture of Ledger Joker was way less Jokerish than this. Which is what it is, one picture. Let's just wait for at least other pics (and logically, at least a trailer) before we get off the hype train, shall we?

A bunch of tattoos and teeth like that looks like the Joker too you? Ok. Not with me.

I'm curious to know the story behind the tattoos and teeth, im sure they aren't there just to be there. I think it's a cool new look visually. I'm glad they've decided to do a different adaptation rather than recreate something we've seen.

This Joker is much different than others we've seen before, he's an established person in this universe for years. There's bound to be reason behind all the choices right? Getting to know the character is something that is at the top of my interests going forward.

Was a little taken back when I first saw it, but this is definitely Joker. Honestly, Joker is known to be theatrical and overly dramatic. So the whole "prison chic" look isn't all that surprising. And since Batfleck has steel knuckles on his gloves, Joker should have some pretty messed up teeth. Especially if the rumors about him killing robin is true.
