Kevin and Ben are still friends. The story goes is that Smith was joking about Affleck while he and Garner where filming a movie and Garner didn't take kindly to the jokes.

He saw the bat suit before we did. He's friends with Ben. These are all reasons why he may have insider info about this movie.

I can't picture anyone wearing the classic orange and green and be taken seriously or look intimidating. It's way too campy. Remember, a lot of people and media outlets think Aquaman is a joke (see Robot Chicken) so I'm sure they'll want to make him look like he can kick some serious ***. Look at Momoa in Game of Thrones, scars, tribal/war paint on his body. Who would want to mess with him? Green pants are ok but shirtless is the way to go cuz orange shirt, really? I would add some scales on his torso a-la Mystique from X-Men films.

Orange could work, if its some kind of scale armor thing. Green pants are ok too. Its the gloves that will be difficult to translate. Id say ditch the gloves.

If they make him shirtless but he has scales, then people will start calling him fishman instead of aquaman.

Why does everyone have to look "intimidating" nowadays? I'm not sure that Aquaman goes about hoping that everyone will cower away from him.

Those man boobs are pretty awesome if I say so myself!

If you watch Favreau's Dinner for Five episode with the cast of 'Daredevil', you can see she want's to kick his a** at certain points and that was a few years before her and Smith were in 'Catch and Release' together.

One does not simply piss off Jennifer Gardner.

I do wish Peter Jackson hadn't spilled Lucozade on the camera lens.

I'm not saying his body covered in scales. Just some parts of his upper body, like shoulders and arms. Kind of like tattoos.

Chainmail mesh that resembles scales or half naked.

So you would be ok with someone like Jon Heder being cast as Aquaman? He's supposed to be King of the Seven Seas. He has to look somewhat tough. You can't represet something like the sea and look like you can't rule or defend your crown.

I'm all for this costume for Aquaman:

The only thing I'd change is the gloves. Just make them sleeker.

I don't understand the relevance of your post. We are discussing the costume, not the actor, and I was asking why the costume needs to be tooled to "intimidate".

Is Aquaman an evil tyrant? Does he rule by fear?

Saw this on Tumblr earlier and thought it was pretty cool.

A football (soccer to some folks) team in Germany, FC St. Pauli released their new kits for the upcoming season and included was the new goalkeeper kit.

Yes, it is inspired by Aquaman as a direct reference to Viva con Agua, a social project in which FC St. Pauli is involved, helping to provide clean drinking water to Africa. Viva con AGUAMAN!!!

I'm discussing both the costume and actor. If they did cast Momoa (or any other actor) as Aquaman, I'm hoping they wouldn't make that decision to make him look like a fool in a Batman vs Superman movie. All I'm saying is that the costume should fit the the DCU that Zack Snyder started in MOS. Remember, MOS as a bit darker than previous incarnations. I don't think the Aquaman's comic book costume will work in this film. Animated yes but not live action.

I agree with this. I would imagine that after the destruction caused by the world engine that AM is not a happy camper. I also don't think the comic version of the costume will work.

are we really doing the 'costume can't working real world' thingie?

I guess so.

I like this look in the comics, but not for Momoa. Those colors and that sort of design wouldn't work for him. There is nothing wrong with the costume, but I don't think realistically the color or style will work for an actor with his coloring and looks.
