This is what he said.

”RocketeerZ” - Joe, are there any plans to finally tie up the dangling "Parker baby" plot? Peter and Mary Jane have no idea the baby is alive and she hasn't been mentioned in years (not counting the "alternate future" comic Spider-Girl). While I certainly don't expect you to have Peter and Mary Jane find and raise the baby, it would be nice to finally close the door on the fact she's out there.

JQ: Well, Marvel never said that there was a baby out there. We saw a nurse give something to Norman Osborn, but it was deliberately unclear as to what it was.

I wis he woulda went into more detail.:down

I think he purposedly wants to ignore it, seeing as it originates in the Clone Saga (something Marvel wants to forget about as much as possible right now). I doubt that this plot will ever be tied... we are probably just supposed to assume that she died.

Yes! Canadian Price Issues are being solved!

It's aboot ****ing time eh? Our dollars gonna be stronger than US by the end of the year anyway

And Baby May, never ever going to be addresed, we're lucky that Defalco's still allowed to write about her :(

Oh man.... I just read the actual interview and noticed that Venom was confirmed again :(... I'm losing faith...

Right and that thing that was growing in MJ's belly for nine months was a cat.
That has got to be one of the lamest attempts to avoid answering a question that I have ever seen.

It's only a matter of time before Joe runs out of ideas for Spider-Man "Crap Events" (Sins Past, The Other) and dips back into the Clone Saga for some 'Epic' storyline for the character. Then maybe we'll see the baby.

Wait, they DON'T want to retcon stuff fer th' sake of retconning stuff? Who in th' wild ****ing hell is he kiddin'?!

JQ: But to a guy like Spidey who scrapes by and gets nothing to begin with, I think a decent wage would be nice enough.

You idiot, you made it so that he doesn't scrape by anymore! He lives in a high-rise apartment, with all his needs taken care of and all of his wishes met. When was the last time he showed up at his real job, in between dying and becoming Iron Man's foot stool? You have screwed Spider-Man up so much, and you snicker and smirk about how you're going to continue to **** him up! It's infuriating! You're attitude about the whole thing is so irritating, I just want to throttle you until you can finally understand how badly you're ****ing up!

Bastard.

EDIT:

JQ: Jon, while I will argue that I don’t quite see what you’re talking about, there’s also only one issue out of Civil War. I would argue that perhaps you’re reading it looking for what you want to see. Regardless, let me try to address this as best I can.

Man, every damn question he answers makes him look like a dick! "I don't quite see what you're talking about". That's going to have to become Marvel's automatic line to every complaint pretty soon.

Joe Q should loose his job. I'm sick of that guy, I'm sure anyone could do a better job then him...seriously.

That was the worst possible answer. "Uhm ya, we saw the nurse give something to Norman, but we never said it was a baby even though Mary Jane was pregnant and was in labor during the time..." A simple "No" would've been better.

Whats weird is I could see the Baby thing potentially becoming a source of drama with the Parkers. No one would forget their baby being stolen, its traumatizing. I think it would've been better to close up the issue once and for all, but we continually get issues that are tons worse like the Gwen thing and the new costume thing...

Not to mention Kaine invaded a barge with a crib on it much later... Hmmmm!

They already kind of established that the "package" was a mystical artifact that Norman Osborn needed in order to attain some kind of ridiculous power. They then led us to think the "package" was Baby May, and sent Peter on a wild goose chase searching for her. Hell, even MJ said it was a lost cause. At the end of the pursuit, it wound up being Aunt May who was the mysterious person Osborn took from him. But yeah, they explained the "package" as an artifact of some kind.

Good job, Joe. Even a vague recollection of what happened still trumps your complete lack of knowledge in the subject.

What about the Kaine thing though where Wolverine25TH said he saw the crib?

Explained or not?

no never explained so kaine is basically raising baby may

Quesada is a moron! Of course, it was the Baby..Mongrain is seen on the docks with Osborn telling her "Make sure it is never seen again." Issues later, we see her with a crib, etc. Plus, when the doctor on Osborn's payroll told her that the baby was stillborn, you see Mongrain in the distance with a cart wheeling something away...the baby could be alive and well..only if Quesada finally quits or is fired as EIC..Otherwise, I guess the baby truly is gone....damn him for ruining what could have been a very cool story...a "final" battle with the Green Goblin, rescuing his baby daughter, and all 3 (Peter, MJ, and Baby May) unite as a family unit...

That was a complete rewrite because it was meant to be the baby...this is just more of the dreck that came post-Clone Saga, the Mackie/Byrne era of writing....scary!!!

LOSING faith? The EIC of Marvel just said Venom will be in the movie, isn't that confirmation enough?

As far as Baby May they won't say anything about it if they don't want to...at least until they can exploit that loose end to their benefit anyway.

“Ozwell” - Given that the other major comic crossover finished the week that Civil War got underway, I was interested in your views on the following:
How tempting is a Marvel crisis/reboot storyline to you? It would help to address the Spiderman/Mary Jane dilemma that you have been talking about and would help to 'fix' a number of complications.

JQ: It’s always very tempting, Ozwell, and when you really think about it, it would have been incredibly easy to have done it after House of M. The thought crossed our minds, but our feeling is that if we were ever to tell a story like that it really wouldn’t do it justice to do it in a major line wide event. A story like the unmarrying of Peter and MJ first and foremost would have to be heart wrenching, it’s not a summer “War Of The Worlds” type blockbuster. It would have to be ground level, very human, something that dealt with characters not spandex. In other words, the solution if we could ever find one has to be small, human, like Peter … not Universe altering if that makes any sense.

What Spiderman/Mary Jane dilemma? How is JQ thinking of messing this up? It sounds like he wants to either destroy their marriage, or erase it. Why won't he just leave some things be, he already destroyed Gwen and Spidey's origin, enough is enough. I am still waiting for someone to fix those things, if he messes up the marriage then they should start from right before he took over and retcon all of his work, I won't complain. I want the original Spidey back.

:spidey:

You must have misunderstood me. What I meant was I'm losing faith for the movie, because (personally) I don't want a Venom that is just like Spider-Man's evil twin (Topher) and is about the same size as PP and wearing the same black costume. I agree that Venom has been confirmed more than enough, showing that he clearly will be in the movie.

Agreed. That was a horrible attempt at not wanting to talk about it. I mean...his answer was basically the question. Why the hell do you think the guy was asking you the question? BECAUSE IT WAS UNCLEAR AND WAS HOPING SOMEONE COULD MAKE IT CLEAR!!!!!!

People are probably going to keep asking him the damn question until something gets resolved. A simple "Yeah, she's gone or there could be possibilities" would have sufficed. As opposed to the dumb answer he gave. :o

Yeah, that was a stupid dodge answer and at the begining of the interview he said he takes on all questions.

Jesus christ, remind me never to venture over to the Newsarama boards again. Those guys heads are so far up Quesada's ass, that they can see what he had for breakfast :o

I think that it's rather obvious Mr. Quesada should not be doing interviews. He should have a fake Joe who knows how to talk to human beings.

He's currently creating an army of Joe-Bot's, in order to retcon any quote he's stated that later doesn't work out
