The Dark Knight Joker's real name

Jack Smiletomuch...lol that was bad why not Jack Napier??

Order of preference:

1. No name. But don't make a big deal of him not having a name either.

2. Jack Napier.

3. Joker had a crazy mommy who gave birth to him while she was on an acid trip, legally named him "The Joker."

But do not, repeat DO NOT have it as "Joe Kuhr" That's totally lame and way too "On the Nose."

personally, i'd like it to be Jack Napier, i thought that name really suited him, Yet i doubt very much they'd use that name because more people would be confused and think this is a prequel again, and i think nolan is trying to distance himself from the previous films as much as he can, hence no Jack Napier. i think like the Killing joke, he'll have a backstory but remain nameless.

i hope to god he has no name but if he must:

Joel Burton should be his name.......

Batman "Joel Burton, sounds like a murders name"

Really, there's no problem with Jack Napier. I'm hoping they go with that.

an origin, but no name. If they give the name, no one, but the audience should know it. That Includes the Clown Prince of Crime himself.

Absolutely no name. He never had a name anywhere except Batman '89.

Well, recentley, in the comics his name has been revealed as "Jack". But that's all we know.

Jack Napier is cool sounding. Leave it at that.

It will also reinforce those ideas that this whole series is somehow connected to the past films.

Jack Napier is NOT Joker's real name.

At the end of begins, when Gordon handed Batman the Joker card in an evidence bag, didn't it say " J. Kerr" on the label?

I do believe that name was supposed to be the name of the officer/forensic tech who collected the card as eveidence.

AFAIK, the only time in the comics that they even just hinted at a name was in the story "Faces". The guy who invented Joker's smile gas was supposed to be Joker's idiot savant nephew/cousin named Melvin Reipan, which is Napier spelled backwards. The only problem is, as with anything involving Joker's history, it was never really positive that Melvin was a relative. that may have been a story Joker told him just to gain his confidence. Other that that, they've never explicitly given Joker a realname.
