Quite the quandary isn't it.
Will Justice League introduce the new Batman?
Justice League
While we're still waiting for the Wachowskis to deny that they're going to direct Justice League really, I'd suggest getting used to directors denying their involvement in this thing a new rumor has popped up about how the movie will handle Batman.
Basically, you know how Marvel established a bunch of separate franchises for each individual character before bringing them together for the big team-up movie, and it was very successful? Well, Warner Bros. is hoping that that business plan works just as well in reverse, because the new, pretty much definitely not Joseph Gordon-Levitt incarnation of Batman would debut in Justice League, then go off for his own solo franchise.
While this seems like a very soft debut for the new incarnation of Warner Bros.'s flagship superhero character, it does mean this latest version can presumably bypass the whole origin story thing, which has got to be cause for at least minor celebration. The possibility that Warner Bros. plans to directly link at least one of its solo franchises to Justice League also raises some interesting questions about whether Henry Cavill would show up to play Superman, and some significantly less interesting questions about Ryan Reynolds returning as Green Lantern.
One agency insider tells Vulture that a freeze has been placed on all development of any individual DC Comics character films until Nolan renders his judgment on how an Avengers-like Justice League film might be put together.
I think that story is BS so I wouldn't worry.
I think Nolans power at WB is much exaggerated personally. I just can't see a movie studio bending the knee for one director no matter how much money he makes them.
I do love the rumor mill.
Keep Reynolds. Keep Reynolds. Keep Reynolds. Keep Reynolds. Keep Reynolds.
