Reynolds wasn't the problem in the GL movie.

Yup, he was fine in GL.

If needed, a separate more "grounded" Batman movie franchise could also be made so that Batman in Justice League can appear only in JL movies.

This will allow them to make Batman movies independently without worrying about how to tie-up events occurring in JL movies in solo Batman movies.

I'm not sure they will keep the grounded approach of Nolan. I would dare say I hope they don't. I really want the new take on the character to be really different, since Batman is a very malleable hero. In that regard, I would like this new Batman to be the same in the JLA movie and his own solo movies.

Why would they keep Reynolds? Green Lantern flopped. They aren't keeping Christian Bale so why would they keep Reynolds? Green Lantern is a dead franchise right now.

As for Justice League, I will believe it when I see it.

Yeah really. Guys that movie bombed. There is no reason why DCE would want vestiges of a failed franchise that isn't getting a sequel.

Everyone who worked on Green Lantern said it was staying separate anyway. Green Lantern, Dark Knight Rises, and Man of Steel would all be separate.

I mean this latest news, who freaking says that reboot Batman will first appear in Justice League. According to what and who? That doesn't mean that's what is going to happen. So they make Man of Steel and then suddenly . . . Justice League? How the **** is that supposed to work? What are the building blocks for Justice League going to be in Man of Steel?

There were some good things in Green Lantern.

Green Lantern's such a half baked movie that it clouds all of the decent things in there with its mediocrity and studio meddling. Even though Mark Strong was great..he's in the friggin movie for less than 10 minutes.

Even if they end up recasting Reynolds, I don't think many will care that much. No offense to Ryan.

They're not keeping Bale because his Batman is done, and because his Batman wouldn't fit a JLA movie thematically. While Green Lantern did flop, Reynolds would be fitting in a JLA movie.

I just can't see them using Ryan again. Call it 'guilty by association' at this point.

You're probably right anyway. It's just that I can see him fitting in this universe. also I had nothing against him in the GL movie.

I really wouldn't mind Reynolds getting another shot as Green Lantern. He seemed genuinely enthusiastic about portraying Hal Jordan, and the acting performances - from all the cast - weren't the problem with the movie. I think Reynolds makes for a good GL - then again, I also think he makes for a good Deadpool.

He can **** right off with the Highlander remake though. If that movie does well I can brace myself for years of "of the clan..." jokes anytime I tell someone my surname.

Reynolds will never return as GL. The studio will want a fresh start, and there's every possibility that Reynolds wouldn't want to return given the stench that film has left.

they may not use Hal as GL in their next movies anyway.

Reynolds has had too many bites at the apple... and the public doesn't like the taste. The Proposal and Safe House were hits because of the emphasis on his co-stars (He was hidden from the latter for Denzel Kicks Ass Bourne-Style: the Movie).

So what's your surname then ? ;)

Think of what happened to Brandon Routh: Just a casualty in this business of H-Wood.
Brandon Routh was awful.

Ill give Reynolds another chance if they change a hell of a lot going into it. Strong was good and Reynolds was decent at times. I dont think he was great. If he was, me and a lot of other people would have walked away saying "This movie is crap, but Reynolds was awesome. He was perfect. Great performance as Hal"....

Nope. Didnt happen. He was OK and that's not good enough for me, at least not enough to want to see him do more GL movies on his own. Maybe as a supporting actor in JL he'll do fine. We'll see, but i think its best to keep last years movie seperate. I dont want that movie to be looked at as the first of the universe, the launching pad. What's wrong with re-casting? They're starting over with everyone else??!

Was he?

EDIT- Oh, do you mean when Darkseid Omega'd him? I meant the person who leaked the news of the script said Hal was the Green Lantern in the JL script.

If I remember correctly, the first issue of Rip was released in May 2008, so Dc was releasing a story about the end of Bruce Wayne and the dark knight at the same time, even if Rip ended after tdk was released.

I minsunderstood what you were saying. I guess using Hal again is probably easier for them.
