So no trailer this month? :(

Why does WB torture us so much?

I thought they wanted the general audience to know of the new movie, not hide it from them?
I always believed the idea behind marketing was all about - you know - anything but that.

Might be that they're unsure of how exactly to market this thing.

There is a trailer coming this month.

This week, if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: nvm. Just saw the post on the last page.

The movie doesn't come out for a few months yet. Have some patience. They are not sabotaging their whole movie by not giving you a second trailer in February when the movie comes out in May. I would expect marketing to start picking up again in late March or early April and get into full swing in mid-April, which is still two months away.

Sure, they might release something during the lull to keep the name in peoples' minds, but they dont need to blow their load yet. Everything's fine.

WB hasn't proved to be particularly skilled in the whole marketing giant monster movies game.

Well hopefully, the marketing for this will cater more to general audiences, unlike what happened for Pacific Rim's promotions.

Me thinks we're getting a trailer before 300: Rise Of An Empire.

I was already seeing the movie JUST for Eva Green so a new trailer would give me another incentive to see it.

:o:p

Well Movie Maniac has been keeping tabs on the upcoming Godzilla film, and they are the only source outside of TK who I trust in regards to Godzilla info and news pick ups.

All his tweets reveal the following:
- The trailer will be 2:30
- The trailer will be FINISHED by Feb. 14th
- It WILL be released with the 300 sequel
- Although there is no real date for the trailer's release, WB can still do whatever they want with it; which includes releasing it the day it's done, but I think it's unlikely.

I really don't trust someone who has less than 1,000 followers and doesn't really back up his sources. As for TK, it's just a fansite(a good one at that). At this point, if it isn't from a reputable trade/magazine or from WB/Legendary it's irrelevant to me.

I dont understand why WB is so timid on promoting this thing heavily. Im sure they invested at-least $100 mil minimum so why not try to maximize the awareness on this? It reminds me of the hulk 2008 film where marvel had next to none promotion.

How much does WB have invested in this? Similar to Pacific Rim, its actually Legendary that holds the rights. If this ends up being a franchise gig, there's no guarantee that WB would actually still be involved in future films since they had a falling out with Legendary.

75% Of this film was invested by Legendary Pictures and the other 25% was WB.

The fact that WB could do exactly what they did with Pacific Rim and throw zero weight behind marketing it, still make back their money from the international grosses and walk away as it flounders domestically.

At the very least this movie actually looks like it will have merchandise aimed at more than just collectors.

Didn't Guillermo Del Toro say they had only used like 25% of their marketing budget at one point and they never even ramped it up on Pacific Rim? What happened there?

I hope there is a marketing push for this movie. I really don't want this to fail. In fact, along with Godzilla, there are a number of 2014 movies that haven't even had a trailer yet. Jeez....

March is the marketing blitz month for Godzilla. That's when all the toys drop.

But March is 100 millennia away at this point. :(

It's February and March is next month. I've got plenty of stuff to keep me busy until then.

I can't wait until I can get my hands on some Godzilla figures that sucker is going right on my work desk so I can stare at his huge elephant feet all day long.

Why? Its two months before the movie comes out.

Back when the prequels were coming out, the Star Wars toys for each film went on sale in April.
