"Let Your Soul-Glo": The Experience Returns

I remember in the 90's we had an influx of remixes released as singles. They were good but the stuff they do today grates my ears.

Tis Diddy's fault I say.

The music in general they do today is grating. There's like 5 people who take risks and evolve their music and everyone else just copies what they do till everyone is sick of it.

I especially hate remixes of RnB songs that put rappers on it and the rapper ends up rhyming about random things instead of what the song is actually about.

That doesn't just happen with R&B songs, these days. I'm still trying to wrap my head around Lil Wayne's verses in Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" remix.

It comes down to either someone wanting a hot rapper on their song or a rapper wanting to be on a hot song.

remixes should rarely happen but now there's multiple remixes for every song to the point where hearing certain people makes songs together isn't even special anymore.

I hate it when I'm listening to a remix and whoever is singing/rapping feels the need to scream "RRRRRREEEEEEEEMIIIIIX!!"

****ing annoying.

It is to inform you that it is indeed a remix.

Yeah, the 90's marked the origin of the remix. Teddy Riley and a few others really made such releases big deals on the radio back then.

Now? Not so much.

Coldest remix to date is still Flava in your Ear remix.
OR the Total 'Only you' remix, with all the chicks, Kim, Fox, Brat.

Damn the '90's are way gone.

No, but it's not surprising. He was rumored to have a bastard on the side.

Did you all hear that Beyonce's parents are getting a divorce?
I bet Tina Knowles doesn't even know about it. Mathew's probably going to debut his new wife soon, shocking Tina as she watches Beyonce walk on stage in a dress created by her replacement.

You know, today on the radio they were comparing Lady Gaga to Missy Elliott, as this innovative, trendsetting artist. Really? I don't see where Gaga has done anything remotely comparable to the Great Misdemeanor...

The Introduction Of The Hee-Hee-Hee-Hee-How Factor:

"I'm the Marriott, the place to get got, after I smoke pot"...LAWL!

Does anyone else agree that Lady Gaga is the 21st century answer to Missy Elliott?

Exactly what innovative thing has Lady Gaga done? She seems like she's just picking up where Christina Aguilera's career left off.

I know I will get flamed for this, but Missy was overrated to me. So what, she made some funny noises. She's not great by any means IMO. She annoyed the hell out of me back when she was popular.

I haven't heard but 10 seconds of Lady Gaga, and all I know is that I don't want to hear anymore of her.

.....and just because, my lady Vivian Green is coming back with a new album this Spring. We talked about it, and I gave her the go ahead to stop sexing me up so much so that she could have some studio time.

Well, I enjoyed Missy more for her production and writing skills. She put out some great hits for other artists. Only Missy could write some s*** for SWV ("Can We") where she compares The Vagina to "tasty pastry." LOL :funny:

You gotta admit...her writing skills were off the charts.

Missy Elliott's "Miss E" album was on fire. She's better than a lot of rappers out there today.

Who do you all believe were the greatest Female rap MCs of the 90s? There seem to be a lot less now than back then (do we even have female rappers out right now?).

I know many will automatically quote Foxy or Lil' Kim, but I also liked some of the lesser-known artists that came out around the same time. Like...this Rapunnzel-ass looking chick...
