him keeping his accent doesn't bother me a bit if Patrick Stewart as Xavier has a British accent when xavier he was born in new york then who cares

not like metropolis isn't in kansas

Smallville is in Kansas but Metropolis is supposed to be somewhere in the northeast. I know they acted like it was right next to Smallville in the show Smallville, but I thought that was just to make it more convenient so that characters could be constantly going back and forth between the two.

Anyway, Lex with a Texas twang is a terrible idea, IMO. He's not JR Ewing.

So is Dracula, but he isn't Lex Luthor.

McConaughey's voice outside of movies doesn't even sound very southern at all, he dropped the accent. That was my only concern, and now I'm even more confident he's the perfect choice

Was the Bryan Cranston rumor ever denied by Cranston/WB? If it hasn't been denied then I guess Cranston will be announced after the finale of Breaking Bad next week.

In Short; Cranston will not play Lex.

There's 99% certainty on that.

How can you be so sure though Rodrigo? youre basing that off nothing, Bryan Cranston actually expressed interest in it.

I'm starting to think Cranston as Luthor would be Heisenberg-Lite and no one wants that.

i think my top choice is once again McConaughey

CBN capitalised on a rumour El Mayimbe made.

He mentioned both Cranston and Mark Strong for potential roles.

So who knows? But I seriously doubt Cranston is Lex.

Cranston denied the rumors publically. Said people are only wondering that because he played a bald villain on tv. Could he still be an option? Sure. But I doubt it. I think he also said that he had things lined up and he was also wanting to take a bit of a break very soon.

Cranston is my Commissioner Gordon for this Affleck series. Keep him away from a Snyder film.

Im now on board for a early 40s Lex. Somebody who is about the same age as Affleck's Wayne. Maybe a few years older, that's it.

Which was my original choice anyway before the Cranston rumors got me all excited.

After all the Cranston-as-Lex rumors died off, Mayimbe hinted that he might actually be up for Gordon, which makes a LOT more sense to me.

Predictable, but I'd happily settle for Strong any day

I've felt, El got it right. That Cranston's name has been thrown about at WB studios, but for Gordon making a cameo, possibly.

Mark Strong and Bryan Cranston are too predictable. I'd like someone to be cast who could bring something unexpected to the role...

Seriously Mark Strong and Bryan Cranston are the most unimaginative choices possible. Mark Strong's acting actually bores me though, especially when compared to the superior Cranston

Yeah because you've seen exactly how he would portray the role in any of the movies where he's played a villain. Of course he's "fine" but he's nothing more. His villain roles are usually played pretty similarly

I would really like someone that hasn't played a villain to be honest. Hackman and Spacey had both portrayed villains before, and Cranston and Strong are in the same boat.

I would too but I am not gonna complain if it is Strong it could be worse it could be Scott Adkins or Orlando Bloom ;)
