At this point , I'm beginning to think Lex may not be in it and this may indeed be a pure vs film. I hope he is in it because i'd be a dumb move to keep him out imo.

There has been more than 1 villain in damn near every comic book movie ever. No way is this a pure Vs movie with 2 hero's or one hero (superman) and one villain (batman) or vice versa

It's not going to be a pure VS film. There's going to be heavy depth and element added to this, not to mention a turnaround and things being continued from Man of Steel. A pure VS movie would be to scrap everything and have Supes/Bats have at it for no apparent reason. It's going to be much, much more than a versus.

I agree and by two thirds of the movie they'll need to fight a threat such as Lex and by the end need to be somewhat on the same page to lead the Justice League. It can't be two and half hours of pure Vs movie.

It's so lazy.

Yeah, I didn't do that. Willis, although he is getting older, fits the bill in my opinion. He can be charming, sophisticated, manipulative and a badass. I was never a big fan of Lex in the power suit. I liked the evil business tycoon that enjoyed getting away with everything. In any case, good or bad, the suggestion wasn't based on him being bald.

I sort of fear if Lex is cast he's going to be an actor nobody will be too excited about. Sort of like how Moriarty in the sherlock films was teased to have all sorts of high profile actors attached like brad pitt at some point but they ended up going with Jarred Harris in the end and nobody cared.

This is what I like to believe...when I'm feeling optimistic.

Oh yes I remember that. That was a big let down!

Yeah, I mean , im hoping we're getting Lex and not a pure vs film , but the recent developments kinda make me worry WB will fumble the ball in a retro 90's fashion.

Lex should be in it, but they are either being awfully secret about the casting, or who they want and havent cast yet, or, my least favorite option, he isnt even in it.
Id like to think he is tho. It would be dumb not to have him.

Imagine if it was Billy Zane. I would be a grown up and apologise to all of his supporters. Then I'd laugh. Then I'd cry.

Ugh, yeah. That was such a disappointment, especially after Guy Richie was dropping names like Daniel Day Lewis for the part. And then the announcement came and everyone was like, "That guy from Mad Men? Huh?"

I held out hope that Harris would surprise everyone, but in the end, his Moriarty was nothing special. In fact, I think Mark Strong played a better Mortiarty in the first Sherlock Holmes, despite not actually playing Moriarty.

It has to be someone with an Oscar or a nomination under his belt.

In every interview, pod-cast or fan-event that I see, read or hear, Snyder comes off and describes many points to what direction this movie is heading in and never, not once...other than on these boards.... that I get the impression of a pure VS movie. In fact, it's the complete opposite when I hear Snyder speak or anybody else, like Goyer, for that matter, but that's just me. Will there be a confrontation, aw hell YEAH but that doesn't make it a pure VS movie. To my understanding, Snyder has said many of times, even repeating himself, that Batman is in this MoS-verse and Supes will battle the aftermath of that little movie called MoS.

On my surface and my opinions, I just don't see a versus movie. A confrontational movie, perhaps. But not a versus. It just doesn't make sense. Things were stamped and approved in MoS for a reason. Throwing all of that out to fight Batman Mortal Combat-style in the sequel just isn't the way to go for the bigger picture. That approach won't get anything accomplished.

Very good point.

If neither caped hero decides to at least attempt to battle the other, I'm boycotting this thing!

After viewing some A list type of talent schedules. It looks like McConaghey and Pitt maybe available for MOS2 as Lex for a February or March shoot.

McConagheys Interstellar is due to finish shooting by the end of this year I believe. Pitt should be finished in another month also with Fury. Joaquin Phoenix's schedule seems to be wide open as well.

I don't like either, but Pitt less of the two.

I think Pitt would be interesting as Lex. Go back to his shaved head look.

Regardless, I think in this film....Afflecks Bruce and Lex will be contemporaries. Perhaps even friendly rivals. So the actor for Lex will need to be in the same age range as Affleck or a little bit older. Or at least look the same age as Afflecks Bruce I think.

Jesus i hope to god it's not Mark Strong. What a boring idea :/

I'm hoping for McConaughey or Viggo if Cranston is out.

Brad Pitt is another idea i wouldn't mind.
