If they make another Batman trilogy they have to make a Batman Beyond trilogy.

Otherwise they aren't not original anymore.

i'm 6'1 too, can i be the batperson?

I've suggested Jim before as well.

It'd be great if the next series starts with a semi seasoned Batman already.

Look wise he totally nails Bruce Wayne and he'd could give us one hell of a Batman. He's also quite a physically dedicated actor if the role calls for it so that's a plus.

Definitely a great suggestion.

I can't get the "Jesus" taste out of my mouth whenever I see Jim. That's my biggest problem with him.

need i remind you what ledger did prior to tdk?

I feel the same way about Jim. Just can't get his Jesus portrayal out of my mind. I'd rather watch the worst movie by Ledger than subject myself to the Passion.

i must admit that i avoided that film altogether
so it doesn't cloud my judgement.

he sure looks like bruce to me...
every bit as much as bale.

and what would the worst ledger movie be anyway?

Caviezel is one of the most unrelastic choices out there, and shows how out of touch with reality some fanboys are.

His career has pretty much faded now and the actor himself will be nearly 50 by the time of the film's release (at the earliest 2015). He's six years older than Bale.

Horrible and completely unrealistic choice for the reboot.

he should be 50 ish... if any time should have passed between 2012'a movie and the next set. if it's any sort of continuation
if not, he should still be established batman, not rookie batman, and not notbatman sitting in cave on headset to imposter batman.

you're foolish, and trying to provoke me by saying i'm out of touch with reality, or a fanboy.

who would you pick, eh mr. conde-mellonfarming-scending?

I like Ross's art, but I think his Batman is a good example of why you need to add texture to live action Batman if you want a cloth-like suit. He's so realistic that it looks a little too...well, too much like a normal guy in a costume. His talent actually works against him in that aspect, I think Batman is a character that works better when he's not seen in full detail. When he takes advantage of shadows and such (and most of the time, shadows that are fairly unrealistic given the lighting around him).

Ross's style works better with character's like Superman, he's a character where you want to see it all.

Completely agree. Alex Ross's Batman looks too much like a dude in a Halloween costume to me as well.

Batman should be 50ish? What?....

Batman was never portrayed as that old or older outside Elseworld tales like "Dark Knight Returns," "Kingdom Come" and "Batman Beyond"

During Infinite Crisis, Batman was late 30s/early 40s tops, and that was the oldest Batman got.

Not to mention we have a young Superman in Synder/Nolan's "Man of Steel," what makes you think they'll go that drastically older with Batman? Keep in mind, Nolan is still involved in Batman 4 as the producer. Robinov confirmed this.

They most definitely won't go for a pushing 50s Batman for the next trilogy. It's absolutely absurd.

It's absolutely absurd.

okay, first;
i had some stirfry and kicked my dog, and am now feeling much better
(don't worry about the dog - he loves battle)

second,
I hadn't considered the age of our new superman (cuz i dislike superman in general) and you have a good point about the elseworlds and whatnot...
so I understand your point.
let's meet in the middle and say 40's ish.

i still stand by the pick, however - he has the talent to make bats/bruce human... He looks the part of brucewayne moreso than anyone else i can think of in the past 10 years . & actors are frequently cast in rolls considerably younger than they actually are.

as for his career being over, i had no idea really, and if it's true - who is robert downy jr?
he was a joke and his career had ceased to be up untill iron man. he got that part anyway, because he looked like ironman, even though no one had seen or heard from him in several years, and he was considerably older than stark is (most of the time)

it could still work, but i understand your aversion better now, and i also appologize for allowing you to provoke me

oh, and
I Believe in Waylon Jones

And even then he's still better than any of your suggestions. So there's always that.

So prove that you're not blinded by fanboyism and tell me why an actor like Sam Riley wouldn't be considered for the next Batman? Give me logical reasons instead of just "a gigantic no."

He's a young talented rising star with a lot of buzz attached to him. He's starring alongside some high profile actors and already has lead role film experience.

He's British and is cut from the same mold as Bale, Cilian Murphy, Tom Hardy etc. He's the type of actor Christopher Nolan and crew would definitely consider. With Nolan as the producer, I'm expecting the quality of the cast to maintain.

He has a BAFTA nomination and 'Breakthrough of the Year' awards.

Acting-wise, he brings a great darkness to his performances. http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/jan/12/sam-riley-star-brighton-rock

He's also within a good age range for the role (born in 1980), will be 35 when the film launches at the earliest.

If we didn't know know WB enough I'll remind you about their tastes... They'll get some of the former runner ups for Supes and/or Batman. So get ready for names like Jake Gyllenhaal, Armie Hammer, Joe Manganiello and Alex O'Loughlin getting a screen-test.

Let's wait for a few years, see if he has the look then.

He looks his age. He's 30 now.

This isn't Superman where there must be some specific look that's required.

The look of the Batman/Bruce Wayne actor leaves a lot of room for interpretation.. as long as the actor can visually convey the darkness of the character.

Keaton proved this, and SR isn't anywhere close to as left field as Keaton was.

Of course, there are other young rising stars too.. but I felt SR was the closest match to the character acting-wise, and most in line with Nolan style actors.

Yeah, I'm sure the studio will throw some cringeworthy names on the table. They have no idea how to handle their DC properties at all. It's painfully obvious after GL.

But I'm confident Nolan will maintain some quality control on the casting as producer, as he's doing for "Man of Steel."

The casting choices Warner Bros selected for Justice League Mortal and Green Lantern still freak me out. As bad as Ryan Reynolds was, it baffles me that we came so close to getting Justin Timberlake in the same role.

I think Batman should be safe though. The right people are in play for this project.

I just don't think they should go for someone older than Bale.

so new bats will be younger than he was durring his first couple years?
i can't see the line of thought... feel free to help me

maggie looked like droopy dog (to the point that i couldn't get wayne's being hung up on her)
and i dont want new bats to look like old spideys brother
just wouldn't work for me

honestly the odds of anyone here guessing correctly on who might be the new bats ... are slim at best
