I honestly don't think Cranston would attach himself to something that could sink his career fast. Elizabeth banks to she has been coming back slowly and i don't think she would also attach herself to something that could potentially end her again and for good more than likely so I doubt it will or would be bad and that's the honest hope and the optimistic outlook and desire for this to be a good movie for what it is. Is that so wrong lol.

Who the hell cares if that McDonalds quality toy looks horrible?

She actually looks great in the movie.

For sure.

He's a fan of whatever they've made, which is a good sign. However, if the Studio butchers stuff in the editing room, that's on them..not him.

Let's not delude ourselves into thinking Cranston's career would sink because of this. Or Banks, for that matter. Even if the movie fails spectacularly, they'll be fine.

His latest movie has gotten horrid reviews so not like he only goes for top notch projects

Yeah it could hurt him honestly. Why do you think Jared Leto freaked out with all those bad joker reviews because he wanted to push himself far away from something that should have been so good go so wrong from a lot of the critics point of view.

The same could actually be said for this movie. Decent budget some, decently big names, and a hope for something that could be epic or could stink worse than green lantern.

How long did it take Cranston to break in. Voice work for rangers, dad in Malcolm in the middle, and Walter white in breaking bad. That's when he finally broke out 20 years and I don't think he would risk all that work on this film if he thought what they have isn't at least a pretty decent movie.

Even Reynolds suffered from green lantern so imagine what could happen to Cranston and company. Back to the tv series I tell you and no more big money movie deals.

I'm not saying it will but I am saying it could have the potential too.

Being optimistic is perfectly fine. It is your decision after all. But then when you bring logic like Cranston and Banks wouldn't attach themselves to a bad movie, that is something one is allowed to discuss and question. Especially as both Cranston and Banks have done some really bad movies recently. We just saw plenty of great actors and actresses in some horrible movies released yesterday.

It is really bad logic to suggest that because those two are in the movie, it should be good.

It really it that said project could kill their career. I've seen it happen plenty of times of the course of my 32 years on this planet so it's not like something I made up in my head.

Yes, but then that means it continues to happen. So why wouldn't it happen here as well? Why couldn't they have made the wrong decision like so many before them?

Because you come to that when you have THE movie and studio lose faith in you and your choice selections.

Name that comes to mind is the kid from john carter. He made a bad choice in john carter and battleship and I haven't seen him in much since. He was labeled at one point as the next breakout star and next leading man and how quick that faded.

Your right you make a few bad ones like has and then you have that really bad one and your out. This could be that movie for them. As for bad choice when something as far out there as power rangers is then yeah studios could look at that and say I could have told you that was gonna be bad.

Taylor Kitsch was practically an unknown when John Carter and Battleship came out.

Bryan Cranston is an Emmy award-winning, Oscar nominated actor.

There's a huge difference here. Power Rangers has the potential to be a career killer, but not for Cranston. Not by a long shot. Now if you were saying this has the potential to destroy the careers of the actors playing the Rangers, then there'd be no argument.

He wasn't an unknown he was a leading man on Friday night lights and he was in savages and few other things he was really good in and 1 bad turn as gambit in the wolverine movie so no he wasn't an unknown. So it's possible there man. That's all I'm saying is anything is possible.

I said practically. He was far from a household name. Even if a lot of people can't name Bryan Cranston, they can certainly name Walter White.

I rather the original at least it brings some nostalgia, which this film is sorely lacking.

International trailer dropped.

Nothing new at all, I repeat, nothing new at all.

Was just watching Pacific Rim there and yeah, the mech fights are awesome. There's a sense of scale and weight. The scene where Gypsy uses a boat as a weapon. :hmr: I'm just not sure we'll get something like that. Not with the way the megazord looks. Looks too humanoid and I'm afraid it'll look silly. Coz it does look like a guy wearing chain mail with bits of armour on top.

What amazes me is the view that new automatically better that's extremely blinkered. A lot of the criticism isn't about how it's not exactly like the originals but about the levels of quality in the actual design

Looking at the design elements of the film on it own. No connection to nostalgia or other property's do you think these would hold. Personally outside of Rita I'd say no

They' basic they're bland lack a lot of creativity and have very little memorable about them and very little stands out

I've said multiple times I'm not looking at this film as a fan because I'm not on but when it was announced the one thing I had hopes for was the interesting design and effects elements and so far especially on the design it's been very disappointing and phoned in

Bingo. The better analogy than Kitsch would be Liam Neeson in Battleship. Neeson's career was fine after Battleship. Cranston's career will be fine regardless of what happens with this. It is a paycheck movie to him. It won't sink his career.

This film will most likely kill the careers of the Rangers before they have even started.

Cranston will be unaffected

Thing is we live in 2016 and the movie is probably set in 2016/2017 so the old designs won't really fit in today's world. If the the movie is set a couple of decades ago, then sure. They can play with nostalgia all they want. But it's a modern day Power Rangers flick.

Cranston has been working in TV and film for a long, long time. He can do whatever he wants. His reputation has already been cemented.

The age of a property matters not. Obviously you update costumes but the idea that you should wholesale throw out old costumes because they're old is ridiculous. I mean does that mean that movie Spider-Man should be wearing black leather because his costume was created in the sixties and thus is too out-of-date to even try to get close to on the big screen?
