Lost (new viewers)

I don´t care about any of that stuff cuz in a show like that, you just have to suspend disbelief a lot... I enjoy 24 aware that there´s no way all these things could happen in the same day and every terrorist attack involves LA and it´s always up to Jack Bauer to save the day, I enjoy Alias aware that nobody speaks as many languages as Sidney does and women that size don´t beat the crap out of well-trained 200 pound six feet guys and no way she would always have to disguise in sexy leather outfits...

Connecting to the character is a subjective thing... I think Hurley is funny, I sympathize with Jack, Charlie and Sayd, I´m intrigued by Kate and Locke, I find Sawyer repulsive - which is what he´s supposed to be. The only character I really can´t stand is Maggie.

Here are the theories for the island mystery I REALLY hope don´t turn out true...

- They´re dead and in purgatory

- They´re trapped in a government secret experiment

- They´re trapped in an alien ship

- They´re in a Matrix-like virtual reality simulation
i don't watch 24 or Alias, these new batch of shows don't really appeal to me to much, i'm not an easy cookie to please unfortunately.

I don´t consider myself easy to please, there´re just a few shows I watch regularly, but I know certain genres of shows are bound to demand some significant suspension of disbelief. Every sci-fi, horror, fantasy or action show, for instance, from X-Files to Buffy to 24, needs that. It doesn´t mean they can´t be smart, exciting, intriguing, etc.

I saw today's episode on E4,
Sawyer is an idiot. He'd deliberately allow himself to Be tortured just to kiss kate? What a moron.
.

Sorry guys, i've tried to watch the show, but i just don't 'get it'. Its ok at best for me. It just doesnt keep my attention. I don't see how it's being hailed as the best show ever at the moment. Its like alot ofpeople are just saying it purely cause other people are.

I keep thinking Sawyer is going to become a the cheeky rogue who we all love, but he really isn't. He's just hateful. It's a shame there are people like that who actually exist.

Charlie is growing on me more and more each week.

I'm glad simply because there are people like him and for him to become a cheeky rogue would just be way too typical.

Or because they honestly enjoy it and it just happens that you don´t. Simple as that.

No i'm not saying that alot of people don't enjoy it. Alot probably do. Its just here in Britain people tend to follow the trend with alot of things even if they are poor just to have something to talk to people about.

I think it happened more to make a point rather than anything else, a point that he needs to make in order to keep himself going on the island. everyone role in society needs to be filled and he's found one that he can take up, so he's making the best use of it.

Then its clear his role in life is to be the world's biggest batch of vaginal discharge. He's doing an awesome job.

and that's why people are going to like him, cause 'society' made him this way and it's not entirely his own doing. he's a product of unfortunate events...

and he may redeem himself wolverine style later on, i can feel it in my bones...

at the end of the day, he didn't do anything wrong, and he was victimised.

he knows what he's doing

the real bad guy in that ep was locke who managed to convince sayheed that locke was indeed responsible for being hit on the head in the previous ep, yet he gets away without any sort of blame for that ep.

it would seem again that the real bad dude gets away with it again. (although it would be obvious to think of
locke
simply as a bad guy, even though he's probably got more layers than that

love the show.. but i watch it on Channel 4, so i'm like a week behind you guys

Damn, you guys are making me miss England and not miss it all at the same time (I miss the place in general, but I don't miss being months behind America on movies and TV shows). Still, I'd take England over the U.S. any day of the week. At least your country respects stage acting.

Anyway...

Sawyer is definitely my favorite character on the show. Yeah, he's a bastard and a jackass, and maybe it is a little cliche that it's not totally his fault, but I think audiences are drawn to him because everyone knows how it feels to be an outcast and if it happens to you enough times, you eventually get to the point where you WANT to be the outcast because its the only thing you know how to be. But what makes Sawyer even more interesting is that he does have the ability to charm people and con them into thinking that he is trustworthy, yet he actually prefers to poke fun at them and piss them all off. So in some ways, by acting like a prick 23 out of 24 hours in a day, he's actually being more honest than if he was being nice to them.

Ironic, huh?

That´s what´s cool about the Lost characters, they all at first look like stereotypes, but as you see their flashbacks and their dynamics in the island, you find out more and more about them. Charlie at first looks like your typical junkie Rock Star, but then you find out about his religious background, his complicated relationship with his brother, his failed attempt at straighten up his life, his devotion to Claire - despite the fact they haven´t had even a smooch in the whole season...

Despite Sawyer being a complete prick, I'm drawn to him. Finally found out how he got it on with Kate. I'm waiting for the siblings back ground,
when Shannon was having her attacks she and her brother were exchanging strange looks.

I'm continuing to love reading everyone's reactions/thoughts/predictions about this show as it airs over there for you all! Reminds me of where my mindset was during those episodes the first time around. You have to realize that as you go further on in the show you learn more and more about the cast and the things happening that make you see the earlier episodes in a whole new light. This is one of my favorite things about the show. You can rewatch it over and over, and see it in a new way every time.

Keep it goin! :D

Season 2 starts up for us in 2 days ;)

Oh, and the Iraqi's name spelling is "Sayid", just so ya know. :)

Yeah, it is fun to read people's predictions and know who is right and who is completely off. If there is anything any of you would like to know and absolutely CAN'T wait for the episode, PM me and I'll tell ya, but it's honestly more fun just to watch it all unfold.

all the damn episodes end in cliffhangers

another week roles in and out...

still many points bother me, and i felt kinda empty with the ep they showed on E4 on wednesday.

yet i continue to watch because i'm promised that these will be resolved sooner or later...

it must be at least half way through the series now, i'm just wondering how much later is later going to be...

ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......

I missed yesterday's episode because I was out boozing and I'm still feeling it. I'll catch it on Second Chance Sunday!!

the french woman is alive

S**t, I was a bad boy and downloaded the whole series. Being months behind was too much. I ain't gonna spoil it for the rest of ya but it's a damn awesome show. And if anyone watched last nights episode, what do you think the black rock is? And don't state the obvious lol.

Ive read all the episodes from the other thread because i was so bored of waiting to see what happens, the pace of the show is so slow and it seems to get started then goes off! its like bad sex
