I dunno what it's like anwhere else, but I haven't heard a peep of excitement about MU over here from anyone... But I guess that may just be the circles I run in, I dunno.

Unless Tony Stark dies or kills Pepper Potts , I dont think IM3 has to worry about bad WOM.
And even if it does , it is going to have a pretty huge OW.

Iron Man 3 doesn't have poor word of mouth. Don't conflate the disappointment of a minority in the fan community as the verdict of the GA.

I'm not saying IM3 has poor word of mouth. I was responding indirectly to mysteryman's comment. I was simply stating IF Iron does have poor word of mouth it wouldn't really hurt its Box Office.

OW, obviously. Total, it's very possible. Not bad for a character that was barely B list before 2008.

Domestically? I don't think it will beat TDK domestically, but WW, most likely.

Early predictions for Iron Man 3 are a $160M OW. Which I think isn't far off. I do think it will beat TDK's opening, maybe even Harry Potter 8's.

Opening weekend? I'm expecting 170mil now, total? Nah, it doesn't have July weekdays and Trek 2, Fast 6 and Hangover 3 will keep it from going quite that high. It's obvious now that the movie is playing like a sequel to The Avengers overseas and I think it will play like that here in the states to a lesser degree. A billion is locked.

I'm trying to be careful about domestic predictions though, there are plenty of movies that performed massively overseas and don't break in records here in the U.S and vise versa. I don't think this means anything for MOS though because it is not coming off of an Avengers style hit.

I'm still thinking Amazing Spider-Man numbers for MOS domestically and way less than Amazing Spider-Man numbers overseas.
