Liam, whats ur take on Mon - Thu & weekend ?

As I've said before July 4th weekend annoys me cause it doesn't fall on a specific day but date. So it makes a harder to predict than say Memorial Day weekend. The last time the 4th fell on a Thursday was back in 2002, not very useful using data from then...to just throw some random numbers out there...

$11-12M Mon-Thur
$10-11M 3rd Wknd

So I guess about $269-271M by the end of the weekend. That should be very good and keep it on pace for $300M domestic.

Do you see it getting to $300?

Sorry but it was competition. If WOM was bad then this movie would have dropped bad this past weekend. The movie is stabilizing and has shown good but not great holds against a flurry of new movies every weekend. Its going to reach and possibly pass 300m and should finish with a WW total over 700m

It did drop bad this past weekend. Since when is 50% drop a good hold? Under 40% drop is good hold. 50% is only good when you compare it to 65%. I do agree that it will reach 300 though, and I am glad for that. It just could have been so much more.

Just got back from The Lone Ranger. Yeah, I honestly don't see this doing very well even with the presence of Johnny Depp. Internationally maybe.

ah ok .. that's pretty much how i have it

11.3m Mon - Thu & 12m weekend for 271m .. but your range would be close methinks

I'm thinking low this weekend... Especially with Despicable Me 2. I'd say Man Of Steel is pretty much done domestically.

Yeah MOS will get probably 10-12 million this weekend, maybe another 6-8 through Thursday.

Despicable Me and Monsters U will rule the weekend, with a little bit of TLR from the curious Depp fans.

It's domestic run is just about over. Poor placement and a pretty disappointing movie in general still making out for an above average box office run. Nothing to be ashamed about. A sequel will come, hopefully better than the first.

Nope. :yay:

Another sub 50% drop maybe even better thanks to the holiday. Giving it around $10-11M for the weekend.

Do you think Thor2 will have the same bump as ironman 3 had in relation to Avengers? In terms of commercial success, what do you think Thor 2 will generate in relation to current MOS projection

1.Thor 2 - $650 - 700
2.MOS - $700-750

That's my take.

wait....what happened to Tobias??

did he leave?

I have no idea what happened to my favorite poster here lol.
Maybe someone reported his posts for trolling and he got banned.

I just want all the people who predicted 1B to come back out of the shadows and into the light.

I think so, definitely believe it will end up doing close to MOS numbers. I'm guessing Hemsworth's hunk status, Loki's delicious villainy, and Eccleston's acting chops will get the film great reviews and WOM. 700 would be a good number.

Pretty boy from The Social Network and the king Johnny Depp is bound to bring in something despite the lack of glowing reviews.
