Just an example of how to industry insiders Man of Steel is essentially considered a great success.

The issue with some people being down is that some people here had such ridiculously high non-realistic expectations. Hell look at the poll not only is $1.5 billion actually an option but you actually had 11 people vote for it lol.

Industry insiders were always much more weary and realistic as to what a rebooted superman film could do and this potentially doing $700m ww is surpassing their expectations.

I was always predicting $700m but for some reason to some that almost became an insult to say we shouldn't bring up a billion plus yet.

I really think the original Psycho deserves more love than it gets (and it gets a lot). Anthony Perkins was a great actor, too.

I think perhaps what the optimistic meant was that this movie could have done 1B (and I am one of them). Not 'because it's superman', but because it's this movie... and it's really good (except for those problems with it that everyone's talking about)... with proper OS marketing (now I sound like a broken record), and better release date, it's not too far fetch that this movie, as is, will be making close to 1B.

But 700M is freakin' huge and I think it's still possible to be the biggest reboot of all time...

Some posters have went as far as to say that $300 million domestically and $690-700+ million is "too low" for a character like Superman. Gotta love SHH.

I been comparing mos to the hobbit numbers and to me they seem close the hobbit only did 49
million in china and mos is also close to the hobbitt numbers in other places as well as lone as mos can get 300mil dom it still has a chance at a billion. Many may say im crazy but remember the hobbit only did 303 dom and 714 os let mos finish its run cuz form what im seeing os loves this movie lets not forget inception who would have thought that movie would make the money it has with a 62mil opening weekend

I will readily admit I am wrong with my 1B prediction and I have always from the beginning said i am not an expert and that my prediction is more wishful thinking... so, no, my ego is not as big as yours... i can be wrong and admit to it...

soon, we'll see a post of yours revising your numbers up to 750M... let's see how you word it..

Yeah, that movie is crap. I can't believe I was actually excited to see that movie when it came out. I should have known not to get my hopes up for a movie that had Kristen "Blank Face, Quivering Lip" Stewart in the lead.
