To me it wasn't. It was just too uneven and WAY TOO LONG. Like 40 minutes longer than it should have been. Depp was good in it, though.

It's too bad that after POTC Depp plays the same drunken pirate in every single role to some degree.

And it's pretty much the same in TLR. I mean, he's entertaining, but I'd like to see him do more grounded work like Secret Window. He was fantastic in that.

Aussies rules!!! Notice how when a movie gets a local actor, it instantly makes tons of money in that country? MOS has UK (Cavill), and Russell (Aussie).. and both countries are big...

IM3 was super smart with their 'extra footage of chinese actors' play.. made $120M there... not bad for a 4 min footage...

I wonder if the future will feature more international stars in all blockbusters as the norm... and hopefully, non-american propaganda movies (where heroes are generally americans, and bad guys are usually from russia/china/korea/venezuela/cuba/arab/, etc, whatever country the US gov is currently at odds with)

ps: I think I have done my part in my country too.. 3 times, and dragged dozens of ppl to the movies as well...

Frustrated? I walked out of MoS absolutely hating the movie and only returned for a second viewing because I had booked weeks in advance. My second viewing was much better.

People are different I walked out of MOS loving it and loved it more with each viewing. Frankly most of the complaints don't mesh with the movie I saw but I'm sure people who loved the dark Knight feel the same about my complaints. I just wish they could articulate their reasons why these problems were Ok or didn't exist better.

It will once MOS 2 is release. Mark my word... MOS 2 will be huge now that the origin part is over... I see some epic new outing that we have yet to see on the big screen display in MOS2. With a script on par with TDK or better is going make movie history... t:

You're going to set yourself up for major disappointment. The reason why TDK was so fantastic was because it transcended the comic book genre, and became a compelling crime drama involving Batman. It also helps that there was the most amazing Joker storyline that cinema have ever seen (RIP Ledger, fantastic performance).

I can't see MOS II being transcendental in the same way that TDK was.

So it's going to beat IM3? You realize IM3 made just over 1.2B? It wasn't necessarily the script that made TDK, it was the cast. To outdo TDK would mean to have a villain on par or better than Heath's Joker. Good luck.

I won't be disappointed... It doesn't have to be like TDK, but as long as the script and direction of the movie is anything that changes CMB genre it will have made it's mark... No one expected Batman's trilogy to do this and it was able to pull it off. Superman has the chance if the right villain and story is told... Lex Luther is one that has not be fully use to his potential as a arch-villain to Superman. One that is pure evil that just simply is twisted and only care about himself and gaining power to rule the world. His hate for Superman should be fully explore in MOS 2 if they end up using him + a side villain.

MOS was far better movie than Ironman 3 IMO. As for betting it's 1.2 billion WW BO number... That is in reach for MOS sequel. Let's say MOS ends with it's WW BO run at 650-700 million +. That's amazing for a non-sequel/reboot movie. If the movie can pull that number which is way more than Ironman 1 even with inflation added with the current MOS WW number. Can you imagine what a sequel can pull. 1.2 billion is easily beatable by MOS. BTW, Ironman had three movies done before he finally able to pull that number + the success of Avenger... Now Avatar's 2 billion is a different animal...

Yeah my favourite CBM is Batman Begins, really enjoyed what they did with Bruce Wayne's origin in that film, but having said that, I loved the hell out of MoS's origin story.

The critics alone can vouch for that. To say MOS was a better origin film than Batman Begins though... C'mon, for real?

My problem with Tobias stemmed from his redundancy. He had a differing opinion from mine, and that is absolutely fine. I respect everyone's opinion as long as they back it up. Tobias backed up his opinion just fine.
His downfall on this thread was that you could read his last twenty posts on this site and it would all be the same opinion. He would just repeat himself over and over and over. It made him come off like he was trying to shove his views down the members on here. Post your opinion/thoughts and move on. We don't need numerous posts dedicated to you typing out the same thing.
