Man of Steel Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 3

After seeing the film, these are my final predictions:

Opening Weekend: $130 Million
International Gross: $448 Million
Domestic Total: $328 Million
Total Gross: $778 Million

Somehow I don't think the movie is going to be as successful on Int'l territories. At least here in Italy, where the movie is released on June 20th, the anticipation is kinda lukewarm. People barely reacted to the trailer in theaters.

I don't know if this says anything, but even my Mom is looking forward to seeing MOS. She has never had any interest in seeing any of the new superhero movies except for TDK and TDKR (although not as much as TDK and MOS). She also had no interested in seeing SR when it came out. So, in terms of marketing WB has certainly also got at least part of the market that typically isn't excited for these kinds of films. It's definitely drawing something outside of the classic comic and summer blockbuster crowd. It might be bias though and have something to do with it diving into the origins (my sister and I are adopted so the topic is huge in our family), but I don't think that's it...

Her enjoyment of that Nolan brand mixed in with the simple fact that the idea of Superman isn't foreign to her(unlike say the bulk of recent Marvel characters).

Keep telling people, there is a huge unpredictable power in those two things.

Haha. I just wanna see a free show.... either u or robot running around the mall in red underwear outside.

That's kinda weird, dude...

C'mon man up n take up the challenge.

robot, can you stop please?

Haha. I just wanna see a free show.... either u or robot running around the mall in red underwear outside.

It might all be invalided anyways if the RT scores keep dropping... it'll be a nightmare if the Movie ACTUALLY sucks... I hope not though.. I am still pretty optimistic... I am willing it to go back up to 70...

C'mon man up n take up the challenge.

Grow up dude. If this movie hits 1B, I'll do it. If it makes even 1 penny less of 1B then robot has to do it. Those are my terms. If robot is so confident it'll make over 1B, he's even saying up to 1.2B, then he should do it.

750M isnt any easy.

Not even close to easy, especially for MOS. People need to lower their expectations otherwise there's going to be disappointments just like with the RT score. MOS opens on the same day as WWZ and MU in a whole bunch of places and there really isn't all that much hype out there. As for the home turf, it might open good but 100 million is still not a given. And it's legs will be cut short thanks to the competition apparently not sucking so I doubt a 300 million domestic at this point. WOM will be good but a lot of people still don't care about Superman no matter what you tell them. 550-600 WW is the best I can see.

Godfrey you brilliant man!

We went from box office/ general audience gold to serious doubts in what 36 hours?
God, I love the Internet.

What part of people aren't liking this movie makes people think others are going to flock to the theatre to go see it?

Time will tell...

:huh:HUH

plenty of people are liking this movie dude why because 15 critics gave it negative compared to the 33 who didn't??

or how at least 8 to 10 people on this very site were blown away by this movie

talk about a massive exaggeration

Final
120 ow
315/20 dom
375/400 international
690/720 total.

R u gonna start this again?

It's going to fall below SR on RT... Awkward...

I can't wait until it doesn't even come remotely close to 1.2B...

Stop putting words in my mouth... :cmad:

I said my range is 900-1.1 billion and picking the middle 1 billion.. and I said IF the OS marketing was stellar, I would have predicted 1.2B, bu it is almost non existent... And that RT scores above 70ish will not make a dent in my prediction...

NEED ME TO SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU MORE THAN THIS????

You seem to be purposely confusing other's prediction, belittling everyone who don't agree with you, go on personal attacks.. then when you're challenge, you run off like a scared little boy who just wet his pants...

You predited 500M, and said if the movie had good reviews, it may go up to 600.. so, since you think the reviews sucks and that people are hating it, I'll take it that you're keeping to your 500M...

So, again, i ask you, since you just can't seem to stop crying, will you stand up like a man, and place the bet?

You keep your 500M and I keep my 1B (regardless of where the tomatometer goes from this point on).. and we see who's closer? 750M is the middle line.. if it's above that, I win.. (since you have pretty much laughed at anyone who predicted 700M and above, this is a no brainer).

If not, just shut up about it and move on... this is becoming ridiculous...

I don't do 'domestic' as I am not from the US... I only do WorldWide...

My prediction range is 850M-1.2B, so basically picking a round number 1B.. yes, I know it's not professional, but I am not pretending to be one... like i said, none of us have the metrics to be so sure of ourselves and I have always respected everyone's predictions... it's just a prediction...

I see a prediction of 850M-1.2B...

The lies... Oh the lies... C'mon robot.

At least stick to your crazy predictions.
