To be fair with Routh I also liked him for the role, he looked strikingly similar to Reeve. It was just unfortunate that Singer botched Superman Returns for Routh to get into reprising his role. I loved him in Scott Pilgrim though as one of the Exes lol.

:super:

The greatest tragedy of Superman Returns was that it destroyed Brandon Routh's career.

He was actually very effective as Superman, it's a shame everything around him wasn't quite up to par.

Lol what career? I don't think we'd have ever heard of routh if not for returns? I'm not even a hater or anything i just think that's a fact.

As for MOS i'm hoping it doesn't just end up as a slightly more successful returns.

He might've had a bit more successful mainstream career if Returns was well received. Not saying he was going to start getting Oscar nods but possibility of more success was there.

Contrary to what people are saying about Routh and SR, I actually thought he was miscast for the role because of how stiff, and generally un-superman-like he was. Even the story that Singer set up made me hate Superman and other supporting characters (which is almost unfathomable that a movie could do that I should say). Then again, it's not necessarily his fault, especially when you always have the mindset of "how am I ever going to live up to Christopher Reeves' Superman?"

Routh is not exactly the strongest actor. That undead movie proved that. He seems like a nice guy though.

Routh in interviews comes off sorta like he did when playing Clark Kent in disguise. Safe to say people have noticed how Cavil comes off. There in lies the first problem with him. Second was how that entire film came together.

For me, he didn't have the gravitas required of a Superman.

He comes off more natural in comedies, that's for sure.

I remember Donner in an interview when he and the casting director were looking at Superman candidates that one of the Salkind brothers brought in their dentist to audition for the role because they thought he looked like Superman. I think there's some video of his audition and it is hilarious to watch, he was awful.

With all the talk about the RT ratings, it is still very, very early. A lot more to come but the score should start climbing as we countdown towards opening day.

I wouldn't count on that. It's got more negative reviews than Batman Begins had at this point, and that was marked at 84%. I'm just hoping it can do well enough to get a fresh rating at this point.

They have greenlit a sequel for Man of Steel which means WB is not fast tracking a Justice League movie anytime soon. I guess no Wonder Woman or Flash in the horizon as well?

I'm rather disappointed in WB for this; I thought the first movie they'd greenlight after MOS would be JL, but it appears that they want to play it safe with a sequel for MOS instead.

Because thats probably the easiest for them to do at this point.

JL will need careful planning, bigger budget, and rushing it is not the answer.

Unless MOS really dominates the BO with mediocre reviews or not i can't see JL happening.

As of now only 1 JL team member has been shown to really put butts into seats and that's batman. So they might as well just make another batman if that's really the case?

GL was sticking your toe in the water for WB as per JL and that failed, MOS is putting your whole leg in the water.

I don't think movie reviews are the barometer. It will still be the ticket receipt that goes toward the net profit.

I'm telling you people, MOS will beat out TA opening weekend of 200 million!!

^ Wow. That's a huge statement and am not putting down the movie but I doubt that's gonna happen. I'm saying $110 OW.

Serious. Just wait. The GA has been dying for "This" kind of Superman movie. There has not been excitement or build up for a movie like this in a Looooooong time...Just wait...:)

200 MILL?? ok. I think more like 125 or so. hope you're right tho.

any new tracking numbers out?
