Transformers is at 57% with a 5.8 avg rating and MOS is at 57% with a 6.3 avg rating. That average rating you think would make it fresh for MOS.

It just that the rottens are closer to borderline while some of the positives are really positive.

It doesn't matter if you think this movie is the worst movie in history, you better hope it succeeds if you want to see Flash/WW/JL.

I think part of the reason for the mixed reviews is that this really isn't Nolan's baby. He was not hands on as with the Batman films. And it shows in the final product.

For legit non-RT reviewers there was a letdown in what they expected so maybe some were more harsh than they would have been if this was just another CBM. So it's not just RT. Though they are way too harsh.

SR got better non-RT reviews than MOS, So it does mean something. WB did embargo reviews.

Whetger RT is halfway right or not will depend on the legs MOS has or does not have.

Jury is out until then.

Yes there is anti-Supes feelings on RT but that applied to SR too and it did much better.

The Snyder factor is a possibility as to the low scores.

I agree with the RT editor though on this.

Just want it to do well enough to get a sequel, not going to talk about the critics on this site. They and anyone else who didn't like the film are entitled to their opinion. I set in the theater waiting and waiting for a bad movie and I personally got a good one.

So far it seems to be turning in quite a good profit, but guys, I wouldn't get your hopes up for a strong 2nd week. It's gonna have one hell of a drop once Friday hits with MU and WWZ being released.

I've said it before to other people, but i'd be surprised if the film makes 500+ million WW by the end of it all.

Guys I'm pretty sure snark was the guy who was pissed about the statistics of how many of us here loved it and remarked he wanted to see it disappear and be forgotten, take that as you will.

Most movies drop hard on their second weekend, that's nothing new. I'm not going to guess the total until I get more numbers.

God the haters just won't quit. "If I hate something everyone must hate it as well!"

If Man of Steel had come out before Superman Returns then it would have made more. Spider Man was something totally new to the cinemas when it came out so of course it made huge money. Only Spider Man I would say would beat MOS but not the rest of the list because they are too recent and 3D has been out for a couple years now big time

It would be more than that. Iron Man was a 2D film and Batman Begins released on a Wednesday.

The point isn't which made more, it's that you can't ascertain which superhero is more popular based on box office that skews 3D costs and inflation.

The only thing you can say is that this version of Superman is alot more popular than the last one.

a 2.4 multiplier with a 125 opening = 300 million....and that's a mediocre multiplier.

Still a big win for MOS....

Rth over on boxoffice is calling the UK Saturday number as being even bigger than the record Friday number for MOS..6.8 million. The Friday number was already the biggest of the year in the UK. That's great news!

Damn. And I'm hearing it's surpassing IM3 over there so far?

Um none of that sounds familiar so I believe you're thinking of a different guy.

Do we know about Australia yet? (That's where Crowe's from, I think...)

Glad to hear this thing is doing well. WB needed a successful relaunch of this franchise in the worst way.

Eh, if I don't like a film and want it to fail I at least have the lady balls to admit it. I hate when others just don't admit the truth.

History won't see it that way...

Ironically a small vindication for Singer. SR had a 78% rating. Not that I agree with the current MOS rating but..

Just imagine what MOS would have done had the reviews been great. We know now why WB kept the embargo on them so long.
Actually, the Monday of a Friday release is a pretty typical embargo. When the embargo ends the night of release, that's when you know the movie is a piece of crap. :funny:

2.65 I think is what people were using as a "typical" multiplier for a summer blockbuster. It takes a truly special movie like TA or TDK to exceed 3.0, at that level.
