The movie will probably make a lot of money this Father's Day Weekend because a lot of the promotional stuff centered around the father/son dynamic. I'm beginning to see the reason for choosing this weekend instead of waiting for July.
But I don't see it being a huge hit beyond this weekend. The WOM has been too mixed and I think a lot of people will pass because of it. It's a shame too because judging from the OW numbers so far, it looks like the people are showing up. If only it had delivered in a bigger way.
Give me a link to the word of mouth being too mixed. I haven't read that at all.

That is correct.Pitt hasn't been in a summer blockbuster since 2005, WWZ isn't getting 100 mil this weekend not by the longest shot.
I still liked IM1 over all of them,I got the impression IM3 got poor word of mouth after its opening, because people expected action and instead got mostly corny jokes from Stark. MOS delivers on its promise of action.

In a way we truly find out out how the GA feels about MOS when the box office numbers for the sequel are released .I don't know what the GA thinks and I don't really care a whole lot beyond my getting a sequel. Inception got a B+ cinema score and yet had better word of mouth than movies with an A. That's why I rarely if ever trust cinemascore. I think MOS will get a B+ personally but that probably doesn't mean anything one way or the other.
Then you haven't been reading this very forum.
There's no need to lie to yourself. It's okay that you liked the movie. I'm glad you did. But you know damn well the reception to this thing has been a mixed bag so far and there's no point in tip toeing around it. You have die hard Superman fans who were looking forward to this for years outright declaring it a horrible film. Stop acting like I'm wrong for pointing this out.

Iron Man 3 was action packed and the action was the best ever seen in an Iron Man movie. Your opinion on Stark's jokes is fine but don't say things like the movie had no action when it was pretty much non stop action.
The mansion attack, the fight with Extremis soldiers in Tennesse, the Air Force One attack/ rescue, and the EPIC final battle.
Ok, well compared to MOS, Iron Man 3 lacked action.
Yeah that was one of the more foolish things ive read in here today. IM3 had no shortage of action. Bizarre statement. It is getting weird in here.

I read the GA reviews-
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0770828/reviews?ref_=tt_ov_rt
No, more like the general audience and critics disagree which happens. Metacritics back it up, evidently imdb backs it up, here more than certainly backs it up (and if you say it's mixed here even when looking at the statistics, I have no idea what to say and I won't draw you a graph to make it simpler to see). If the critics spoke for the audience, many summer movies would not succeed or they would do better than they have. If critics meant anything Star Trek and Iron Man 3's box office would have switched. Also critics thought numerous movies that later became classics were terrible as well. Critics and general audience does not align and are two different variables entirely, fact.
There's no need for you to lie to yourself, metacritic has it at 8.9/10 and on here --
22 give it a 10.
59 give it a 9.
35 give it a 8.
25 give it a 7.
10 give it a 6.
3 give it less than a 6.
81 give it a 9 or higher, while only 73 give it below a 9.
52% give it a 9 or higher.
116 give it a 8 or higher, while only 38 give it below an 8.
75% give it a 8 or higher.
The majority of voters give it a 9.
So, um, where's the mix? 75% giving above an 8, and 52% giving it a 9 or 10 doesn't really factually/statistically show what you're trying to imply at all.
All you have shown or proven is that the minority is in fact very vocal with what they didn't like. HOWEVER, statistically the majority gave it a 9 or higher.
If it was mixed -- you would see -- as on all these mixed movies more people at an 8 and a 7 with scattered dots or more scattered than it is, but as it stands most are leaning towards near perfect if not perfect since 52% of the voters voted for the very very top. The see-saw is quite obviously leaning in one direction.
If you want to demean someone? At least have the stats to back it up: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=459683
