250 to 260 is my bet... anything more would be awesome IMO...

Tuesday normally see a slight increase so this is right in line and the first time it's had a weekday to weekday bump up. Wednesday and Thursday tend to tend down.

4.5 million Monday and 5.2 Tuesday - 9.7 million. Wednesday drops can be 20% that would make it about 4.2 and Thursday could see a 10% drop to 3.8. Mon - Thurs 17.7

Weekend is crucial guys. If we get a 60% drop it's over - in that the film tops at 270 - 275. If the drop is around 50% (which is high given the 3rd week drops are normally in the mid-40s) that would be 20.5 million or so. Total weekly take 37.7. So far we haven't seen it but if MOS can hold it's weekend drops to 50% (which is significantly above normal for a film) it could crawl to 285 million total. At which point WB has the option of doing the slow dance.

Final *** around 247/248 million possible by end of Sunday. Hold this weekend is critical.

WB's plan should be to slow down and tell a phenomenal story with MOS2 and build on the Easter Eggs with cameo's by The Batman and Wonder Woman (the Trinity factor) and build the solo franchise from there, slowly making its way to the JL. I think the JL film should be held off to give other heros a chance at their own tellings and come at us full throttle and show confidence in doing it right.

Rushing is the last thing to do, but they should really give others a strong-go after MOS2.

They need to take time number one and they need to avoid 2015 with Avengers2 and Star Wars. MOS2 will be totally lost in the mix.

The fact WB has seemingly clammed up on a sequel makes me think they will put it off to 2016. If they were serious about 2015 they'd have announced it by now if for no other reason than to get a decent release date. There are few now in 2015.

Avengers 2 will come out in May. SW2 still isnt even confirmed for 2015 and if it does then its a May release as well. MOS can have June or July again or take the November/December slot. They arent clamming up

It was an epic movie... just wasn't what some fans wanted... :whatever:

A movie is epic because the audience are emotionally involved in the stakes and well-being of the characters. A movie like the dark knight can still be considered an epic despite having less people dying, less destruction and smaller action sequences.

Fans are perfectly right in arguing MOS wasn't as epic as they hope if they feel emotionally disconnected from the characters and the world in the film.

see, if WB actually had some planning and had another DC hero movie in the works, they could fill the 2015 spot with WW or Flash, to test the waters with those.

but, sadly, WB seems to be thinking only one movie at a time.

And other fans are perfectly right to argue MOS was epic MOS because they did emotionally connect with the characters and the world in the film.

By clamming up I mean the week of release there were a ton of stories about a likely sequel. Since then the news has gone silent. If the holds had been good I expect we would have had an announcement around July 4th. Right now I'm thinking September - a few weeks after the Japanese premier. That way WB will have all the numbers.

personally, I found MOS more epic than TDK and TDKR. especially TDKR.

I said this before. WB has no confidence when it comes to their DC characters outside of Batman and Superman. Marvel believes in their characters. It's as simple as that. Iron Man was not A level character for them but they had so much belief in him, that they put the necessary resources behind him and built their entire Marvel plan around him. That's the power of belief. They believed it and made it happen. WB has no such belief. It's why their plans change according to the direction of the wind.

They still could surprise us and do WW or Flash before an MOS follow-up. I think its all in flux right now and knowing WB they don't have a real clue right now as to what comes next. Maybe they chuck it all and go for the Batman reboot first. They have a lot of options about how to move forward but they dilly dally so much its a riverboat gamble to predict what they actually will next do. Keepin mind this is WB we are talking about.

Too some it wasn't and to most it was... It was epic to me as I was touch by the emotional father and son moments to the death of Zod at the end... Add that with awesome action it = epic in my book... As you state each fan are find with arguing MOS wasn't their movie... it's only when they keep coming back on to MOS forum and debunk it's success... That's what tick some people off... this is where this thread has turn out too...

WB will surprise all of us by announcing that they are doing a Dr. Strange movie, only to then realize that Dr. Strange is Marvel!!

Too funny.

But really I don't think right now they are sure what film they will do next or when they will do it. The new head of WB in a way sends everything back to the drawing board. Don't hold your breath for ann announcement at ComiCon. I doubt that will happen.

I'm not denying that there are many people who find this movie as epic. However, I can understand why this movie just doesn't work for a number of people.

My issue is people are taking the extreme position of both sides. One side is arguing MoS is a huge success and pretending only a few people disliked the movie. The other crowd is pretending this movie is so bad that it will not make any profit at the box office.

People need to realise MoS is a mixed movie just like Superman Returns to a degree. This may affect the sequel plans.

You could end up in a scenario where WBs took the incredible hulk route and have a minor "reboot".

Interesting thought. The Forbes author suggested a reboot for MOS2 but said it was not practical.

So you think they will do a sequel but see the possibility of significant changes?

MOS made $26.9 million in China for the week ending June 23rd. Total international figures for the past week should be posted later today and we'll see a big increase.

The sequel is coming. I see changes by giving Goyer help with the script and develop better character development with more one on one dialogue, less action (though, some) and told in a linear story rather than flashback. This gives the team to fix up many nooks and crannies moving forward and they will adjust accordingly to their story.

Domestic: $219,812,745 53.9%
+ Foreign: $188,300,000 46.1%
= Worldwide: $408,112,745

Awesome can't wait to see how much all the new territories bring in.

I wonder what the projections are for total Chinese box office take for MoS. It will obviously be a lot less than IM3, but can it be above $50 million?

I'm to assume you are in the latter group then?
