If DC Studio is establish they will not go with Batman... MOS is their top dog now... regardless if you like it or not WB knows MOS is the start of their DCU... They will introduce Bruce Wayne in one of the Sequels and start from there with World Finest... and from there probably JL and other side character movie.

I agree and have Batman show up in MOS 2 and then do a WF movie. I think those two alone would out do anything Marvel has put out. At the end of WF have some pending doom attack with Darkseid and have Batman and Superman agree they are going to need a bigger team. Hello JLA!

Welling doesn't want the part and he is 6 years older than Cavill. Snyder can give us Brainiac or Doomsday. We need a sequel for MOS to get JLA hyped even more. Introduce a new Batman or WW and then do JLA

We don't need MOS 2 to get JL going. A few months back JL was to be the next film. Then suddenly MOS2 was to be next.

Its up to WB and I don't think they have decided who/what goes next yet. If it was definitely MOS2 they'd probably have announced it by now. In part to show confidence in the franchise in light of the mixed reviews.

The new head of WB is going to do what he thinks is right for WB despite what fanboys want. Its a business out to make money and that is the bottom line.

That's still 280ish million domestic....wasn't expectation supposed to remain realistic? 300 was always the pipe dream for uber success (realistic anyway). I thought the point was to recoup the budget domestic, as it is with EVERY other film.

Everyone is getting caught up in the argument of supersuccess vs superfailure...no middle ground.

It was frontloaded....and took on a combined 148 million dollar behemoth weekend 2. To say that MOS is weak, and the potential for more isn't there in a future installment is just crazy.

@700 WW isn't pretty damn good for a reboot? What planet is everyone living on?

You move on, you address the problems of the 1st film...and you deliver a tighter product for the sequel. It has been done before. TBH, TASM2 will be very interesting to see next year.

The Bronze Horseman?

Just the sheer THOUGHT of a Superman/Batman movie brings a tear to my eye.......

Cavill just said he doesn't think JLA will be any time soon. You heard sources say MOS2 is next. Talks about Strong as Lex are out there. Its all about a sequel right now and not pushing JLA.

Here we go again... Again Tom Welling doesn't want to be Superman... We already have our Superman for the next decade in Henry... Tom will be remember for his role as clark only... nothing more...

I put that comment in there cause I knew it'd get a rise out of you guys.

Too funny.

If Batman and Superman in one movie will be easily 2 billion WW if done right... Die Heart Marvel fans does not want to see this happen as they know those two alone can top their Avenger movie...

WF to me would be bigger than JLA and both Superman and Batman are established.

WB already stated they want more MOS before JL... the right way as even Henry and Zack as mention is to build up the team... What WB will likely do as I stated above is to introduce Bruce Wayne in one of MOS sequel which leads to World Finest. From their Superman and Batman decides to team up with other for a greater evil Darksied or White Martian... As much as I can tell you want WB to X MOS it won't happen... MOS is the start of JL.

I heard about Cavill's comment. The thing making JL iffy soon anyway is the budget.

The other story out there was if MOS didn't do too well they might go with a Batman reboot first. Not saying MOS isn't doing well but its not the blockbuster some had expected.

So rebooting Bats is an option.

Another option which kills two birds with one stone is a WF film. Batman is more popular than Supes by far. Sorry, that is the way it is. Putting the two together in a film launches bats and may give Supes an extra push to become more popular in his own right.

Personally I think WF should be WB's next film. In 2016.

How much is that going to cost? I think it'd be the most expensive movie of all time!

The day Bruce shows up in MOS sequel is the day the internet will go crazy it will be the start of World Finest movie everyone has been waiting for... It will be the most hype cannot wait to see movie ever... I will be in tears of joy when that day happens....

Here is another reason I do not see them scrapping MOS2. It is going to pass Batman 89 for third all time DC movie. It will only be behind TDK and TDKR which are sequels. If WB scraps a top DC non sequel, sequel then they might as well kiss Superman goodbye. WB needs to find another studio who will do DC movies justice and lets move on. WB aint dumb though and they will do a sequel

First comment like this I've read on the internet since the release....seriously.
there actually isn't alot of action it is just the action that there isn't paced well enough so it all merges together which makes it seem like too much

Batman is popular but not more than Superman. He does have a better rogue gallery of villains than Superman but overall Superman is huge.

Also you said it aint the blockbuster some expected to be. How aint it? Maybe not to you but its a blockbuster. WB never said their expectations and no one from WB has said anything negative about it

critics and audiences on the matter.
Well, audiences that enjoyed the Christopher Nolan produced Man of Steel can rejoice while critics that did not enjoy it can get ready to write some more nasty things about it. Man of Steel screenwriter David Goyer had some interesting things to say about the story lines he wants to delve into when it comes to the already greenlit sequel.
Goyer says he and Snyder have had conversations about the sequel and one aspect of the story they want to examine is "...what other countries feel about the fact Superman calls America his home."

2015 = Wonder Woman, MOS2 (Batwing at end credits)
2016 = Flash, World's Finest
2017 = Justice League
2018 = Batman reboot, Wonder Woman 2
2019 = Flash 2, MOS3
2020 = Justice League 2

etc

well, saw it for 1st time tday on early Wed screening .. some people has to be turned away .. the South African market where i'm at is not a major market, but we'll add a couple of mill

Don't know if someone mentioned this already but the $5.2 million for Tuesday is no longer just a rumor. BOM updated their site finally. So MoS is at just a bit under $220 million now.

What if at the end of MOS2, Supes is shown saving Bats from getting the bomb over the bay?

But you can not say that it was not a commercial success, expecially if you look at Superman Returns.
Fox tried a reboot of the successful X-Men Franchise with the excellent First Class, but it made far less than 400m ww.
WB did MOS after the poor recieved SR and made 400m ww in two weeks, but it is a disappointment because it is "Superman".
i know its been 7 years. but SR was not poor recieved :yay:

Yes.

Tuesday normally see a slight increase so this is right in line with the expected and the first time it's had a weekday to weekday bump up. Wednesday and Thursday tend to tend down.

4.5 million Monday and 5.2 Tuesday - 9.7 million. Wednesday drops can be 20% that would make it about 4.2 and Thursday could see a 10% drop to 3.8. Mon - Thurs 17.7

Weekend is crucial guys.

If we get a 60% drop it's over - in that the film tops at 270 - 275. If the drop is around 50% (which is high given the 3rd week drops are normally in the mid-40s) that would be 20.5 million or so. Total weekly take 37.7.

So far we haven't seen it but if MOS can hold it's weekend drops to 50% (which is still a significantly larger drop than normal) it could crawl to 285 million total.

At which point WB has the option of doing the slow dance.

Final *** around 246/247/248 million possible by end of Sunday. Hold this weekend is absolutely critical.
