Looks like it might be a Spider-book anyway. The red and black fits with OctoSpidey's costume, and the "mortal" ties into the whole death of Pete thing they got going on.

Here's what the MORTAL teaser was for:

So it Looks like Wolvie is still healing-factor-less (:cmad:) and working with a smalll time mob boss
and also, getting relaunched within a year
If they do kill him as next year's stunt, I'm done
makes me sad too, I grew up with the x-men, but at least i'll save myself $40 a month

I do kinda like the new outfit tho

I figured it was Wolverine.I think at this point I'm desensitized to relaunches. Marvel should just renumber at the beginning of every year and stop trying to make these into a big deal. Just have 12 to 18 issues "seasons" and be done with it.

It's a different direction for the character, giving him at stake. Now, I really wonder if Marvel saw the Wolverine trailer and decided to use the whole "no-healing factor" for Cornell's run or if it's just a coincidence.

Everything Cornell's done has been pretty good, though Alan Davis's stuff doesn't really fit the character all that much.

God, I hope they kill Wolverine off as the new stunt for a while. A year or two of no Wolverine would be amazing.

It would be amazing - even more so if they actually had the courage to do it.

Yeah unfortunately I agree at this point. Marvel will not let their books go any higher than 30-40 issues anymore. They are going to make it impossible for readers to go back issue hunting when there's a dozen different Wolverine #6's out there or a bunch of different Captain America #8's or Fantastic Four #14's.

DC used to number their comics back in the day signifying the year and the reading order of the issue. It was helpful when trying to read The Death and Return of Superman or Knightfall in chronological order.

Marvel should just adopt that policy at this point.

Why relaunch a book when the #11 just came out today? Weak... :(

I just noticed that the cover says Wolverine (2014) #1 in the lower left. I guarantee that this is cancelled by next December.

The era of yearly relaunches seems to be officially underway...

Volumes have always also been categorized by the year they start in though.

Is it just me or does Wolverine's suit look different than the one shown in the Inhumanity teaser?

Is there a reason, other than him being in an unrealistic amount of titles, that people hate Wolverine so much? Getting that feeling in almost every Wolverine-related news that pops up.

It wouldn't be that bad if there was at least some consistence and some real development taking place. It doesn't seem to me that anything really new has happened to him in a long time. This isn't his first depowerment by far. :(

He got depowered again?

Oh wow, that's original.

Honestly, having be Headmaster of his own school is great development, but Jason Aaron just doesn't spend as much time with that as he should.

It's just bothersome to see people hate a character simply because he shows up too many times. Like, honestly, isn't it just easier to avoid him instead of wanting him to die? I know they're, in the words of Ben Affleck, "fictional characters", but it's just weird.

I was loving him during Remender's X-force and Aaron's run on the solo title. That was one hell of a one-two punch. I haven't read anything since really. My thing about people who complain about Spider-man/Batman/Wolverine/whoever over exposure is you can just choose to ignore it. I guess with Wolverine it is partly justified since there is an X-men title with his name in it and he went from extremely popular side character to the focus of the entire X-men franchise.

Yeah it seems theres two main types of wolverine haters:
-avengers fans who think hes a s***head from things like avx and childrens crusade
-cyclops fans or xfans in general who want their fave to get more spotlight

I still say if ya stick to xbooks and his solo he is often a great character
