Marvel Now - Part 4

not gunna happen, sorry :woot:

Marvel Now costume design has been so hit or miss.
There are some beautiful new costumes like Uncanny X-Force and Captain Marvel on one hand
Then you got Cap, Iron man(if you can even call that a new design), Uncanny X-Men, and Cable's X-Force on the complete other end

They should just let Kris Anka(that's the name right?) design every character's new costume.

Meh, I find Captain Marvel's uniform to be very bland and generic.

There are worse costumes in the new launch though - such as Cyclops looking like Racer X.

I guess it depends what books you're reading. Take a look at Uncanny Avengers and Avengers. One he's barely changed, the other is looks like a spartan from Halo.

Read my first title of the relaunch: X-Men # 1. Currently, I am writing my thoughts on it on for a video review I am working on with a friend. Overall, I liked it: it was nice seeing an all women X-team (:hrt:) and the action and dialogue flowed well. The frequent jump cuts made it somewhat confusing to follow the multiple arcs; but, I suspect the next issue will some of my questions.

Edit...

Heh, this isn't the bought/thought thread.

I don't like the idea of Spidey on any teams right now. It doesn't fit into what's going on in his own books. Especially considering Ock is on the verge of putting the Sinister Superior Six together.

I just said this in the Infinity thread, but the only thing that interests me in that line up is Luke and Power Man being together again. The rest is a let down.

they're reviving Mighty Avengers? Does Marvel really need ANOTHER Avengers title?

Apparently, its becoming overkill. IMO. My wallet can't handle anymore! :p

Marvel milking a popular title...like that hasnt happened before *cough cough Xmen cough*

We don't know if it's an Avengers title, it's just a teaser that says "Mighty" on it.

Regarding Uncanny X-Men, those costumes were designed by Bachalo, and as a general rule, anything drawn by Bachalo other than Generation-X sucks.

Glad to see marvel is finally doing something with blue marvel, should be interesting.

NEWSARAMA

So yeah, it's definitely Mighty Avengers by Al Ewing and drawn by Greg Land. That's not going to help matters. It's coming out in the midst of Infinity in September 2013.

And in addition to Luke, Power Man, She-Hulk, SpOck, White Tiger, and Blue Marvel... the team will also have Photon (now called Spectrum) as field leader, Falcon, and a new Ronin.

Greg Land on art kills what little interest I had in this title. I still like the gist of Power Man working with Luke as a boss/associate relationship, and I've always been a little fond of the Ronin mantle, but I'm just going to have to pass on this. Unless the first issue WOWs me in the shop, I'm not even going to bother.

Brevoort says that it wasn't fully intended to be, but they were somewhat purposely putting together a "Black Avengers" in the vein of Hudlin. In the end, 6 out of the 9 were black. I don't really care about that either way, but just thought it was worth noting.

Well since I don't have the jaded hate towards some of these writers and artists that the rest of the comic community has I will probably still check out the book. I mean Spider-Man is on the team and I'm just as sucker for that guy.

I won't dodge things due to Land, but he doesn't make me WANT to buy a title either. This'll likely be $4 an issue and Luke and Power Man being overwhelmed in a sea of other characters I don't care that much about or at all isn't worth the price.

But again, I'll give it a fair skim before officially passing on it.

Most of the comics I see from Marvel are $4. It sucks, but I'm not really reading that much right now either.

I only counted 5, did you accidentally count White Tiger, who is hispanic? Or did someone say the new Ronin was black as well and I missed it?
