Marvel Now - Part 5

DC was adimirable in their effort, but I also saw it as a way to get customers to try all the New 52 stuff. Stil it was nice that some Marvel books were still 2.99. I was going to give Nightcrawler a shot, but now I can't.

They were doing that prior to the New 52, but yeah, it was likely just a method of trying to get more customers/sales (which is understandable).

And yeah, at $3.99 I'm going to pass on both Nightcrawler and Magneto. I was very interested in them both, but I'm priced out of my buying and plan on pulling back even more.

I might just jump on She-hulk, since it's 2.99 and getting great reviews. Also Thunderbolts has Doug Moench co-writing #26 in May. If he's a regular, I might be tempted to jump on.

Loki and Black Widow have been great but Marvel is just blowing it with the big three.

Such a great movie at the cinema and Cap's current title in print is such crap. Someone at Marvel publishing should lose their job for letting three well loved films (Iron Man, Thor and Cap) hit in the last year while all three comic series have been as bad as they've ever been. Yes, that includes Thor. Sure the art is fantastic on Thor but the writing has been beyond awful. Before I dropped it they even had Thor being able to hear prayers... groan.

The "secret origin of Tony Stark" was as bad as teenage Tony and they kept his brother aroound to linger the stink. I've been handing thos issues back to my comic guy now as well.

I like the current Cap and Thor comics but I agree that Iron Man hasn't been very good recently.

I understand people not liking Iron Man. I agree with that sentiment. Hell, I can understand people not liking Captain America, though I personally like that one. But if someone doesn't like Thor: God of Thunder...well, I want what drugs you're smoking.

Yeah, I get why the hardcore Iron Man fans would probably despise this current run. Even though I hear more people b**** about how the Mandarin was portrayed in IM3 than I do about Tony Stark being adopted and having a long lost step brother......I guess they're all OK with that.....:o

As for Cap, as a long time fan of the character and as a big fan of Rick Remender, I'll admit that the book is very subpar. It has a lot of "So what's the freaking point?" aura around it.

I honestly have no problem with Tony being adopted. Gillen's run on Iron Man is just kinda dull. It suffers from the same problems that you say with Remender's Captain America "So, what's the freaking point?"

I see what Gillen is angling at giving Iron Man 2020 his 616 roots but significantly altering a character's history like that is a dangerous game when you use it to reach your storyline goals. I'm not a mega Iron Man fan and am not highly invested in the character so it doesn't bug me as much but I understand if an Iron Man die-hard loses their mind over it. This is the same stuff they do to Spider-Man constantly, so I feel their pain.

Hickman should have been in Iron Man. He has done FF and Shield, the next thing to write is Iron Man to tie up Stark & Richards story.

I'm not reading anything in here since I don't want to be spoiled but I'm well on my way to catching up. Got almost 3 months behind but now I'm only about a month behind. Will give my thoughts once I'm caught up

Im really enjoying Marvel Now right NOW haha. Ive liked Magneto so far, Daredevil was awesome, and new Silver Surfer was really enjoyable.

I honestly ALWAYS want to do polls to find out what part of the fan demographics complain about alterations to characters film counter parts. Mostly because I think the majority of complainers aren't comic fans, but more casual fans.

NAIL - HEAD

That's why there are so many psychos in the movie section of this board with bannings occurring left and right. The casual fan comes in here b****ing and starting arguments they can't win because they don't know what the hell they are talking about.

Anyone reading New Ghost Rider? I'm really enjoying the book.
Also, Hulk has been great.

Im so behind on hulk I just finished the Aou arc. I'm curious about this "who shot bruce banner?" Business

It's like Marvel pulls names out of a hat and says, "yeah let's put them in a relationship".
