Capcom Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Maybe back in Street Fighter 2 where Ken and Ryu played exactly the same...

But Ken/Ryu play nothing alike now a days, with the exception of the button inputs being similar for similar moves.
They pretty much all have the same moves and fighting style. I don't care if their button input is different. That doesn't mean a damn thing if they all shoot fireballs, have flying uppercuts, and a hyper beam.

The 3 of them by all intents and purposes are the same damn character with a different skin and one might do more damage than the others (Akuma over Ken and Ryu.)

Have you played the recent Street Fighter games at all? They don't have to be this way, at all, and in fact, haven't been for awhile.

I barely played Street Fighter IV, I'll admit it.

But tiny differences does not make them a different playstyle. So what Akuma and Ken probably have one hyper move that Ryu doesn't have? If 80 percent of them, I just can't see them as all being necessary.

Well, actually, in the case of Akuma he's pretty different. Sure, same bit of basic moveset, but he has teleportation, different fireball uses, and just plays a lot differently. At least in SSF4, don't know how he'll be here

I actually prefer Akuma to Ryu and I'm happy he's in.Taskmaster looks great too.The only two inclusions I'm really upset about are sentinel and Shuma. If they were going to going to have returning MVC2 characters I would have rather had Cyclops,Gambit or Venom.

i cant believe capcom wanted cyke in this game but marvel said no, heres a big **** YOU IDIOTS to marvel, God that company pisses me off like no other

I would've been fine with Akuma as DLC. I just hate the fact that we have two Shotos in the main roster.

"I Don't care what you (and millions of others) say, I'm right they play too similar waaaaw aaaaa waaaaa"
:whatever::whatever::whatever:

another shoto is just laziness on capcoms part, would have much rather seen an ORIGINAL character like Guile or Bison

And Bison would at least another villain that would fit into the ranks of Doom and Wesker.

And now over at Capcom Unity someone who's been hellbent on Ken getting in is now even more determined for him making it as DLC. It's only a matter of time before Blade and Punisher fans start doing the same.

Ditto. Bison would have been a better choice. He's the main SF villain. He has a playstyle different from any other character in the game and would actually fit better in the story and could team with Doom and Wesker. Akuma may have some differences from Ryu, but whoever is the better of those two will be the one worth using if you like shoto playstyles, and the other will become a throwaway slot, while Bison could give your team something new.

you really are talking crap, ryu plays mainly like a fireball thrower, where as ken plays now more of an upclose combo fighter, akuma is simply just a cheap bastard

the 3 all play different

What really makes it a mystery is the fact Cyclops has basically been the main character in the X-men line for a while.

You can use different tactics with each other, but you can also play pretty much the same with each of them. All have the Hadoken, Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku. Just because one can deal more hits than the other, shouldn't mean that the other has to get in as well.

A completely different character, would have been more deserving of the spot, than someone like Akuma who practically can do everything Ryu does, only better and with a couple more moves.

i shouldn't be surprised, marvel never gives Cyke the props he deserves, its all wolverine, all the time with them, damn annoying.

Thank you for saying what I was trying to say in a better way.

It's a real shame when characters like Sentinel return.Capcom fought for Shuma to get in too. They could have for Cyke.

yeah i dont see why marvel would want sentinel in over the leader of the x-men...but i've been questioning marvels bad choices for years and nothin ever changes lol

They just changed EIC so that is kinda good right?

The main reason Sentinel's getting in is because of his tier status in MVC2. If it wasn't for that he probably wouldn't even be considered. That's got to be the worst reason to bring back a character. I don't ever remember a huge fanbase begging for his inclusion or anyone posting the infamous "I won't buy the game if he's not in". Hell I've seen tons of people's wishlist and I don't recall seeing him listed. That's if anyone listed him at all.

Capcom has talked about how Marvel was like a wall with some characters they wanted like Cyclops...Marvel just wouldn't budge on him. From what I understand Marvel said no to Venom also.

Marvel also said no to the FF4, and recommended Super Skrull in their place.

I'm sure there are others they wanted but Marvel wouldn't give them. In fact, MODOK was a character Marvel wanted them to add to the game, and were pretty adamant about.

It's a shame really because we'll just like in MvC2 a TON of teams of Magneto, Storm and Sentinel.

But I bet they'll add in Deadpool and Dante since alot of people seem to be gravitating towards them.

I heard of the others but when was Venom deconfirmed?

Well Capcom wanted a non-humanoid Marvel character that would offer some variety. Marvel suggested MODOK.
