Eh, hard to be hyped for this after the last one being a major disappointment and the Street Fighter V ********.

I take issue with paying 80 dollars for a beta with online play that didn't work and a good portion of exploits that largely went unfixed even in the Ultimate version.

well, if a game is exclusive to a console that I don't own, then it doesn't really help me.

The image is fake. I've seen an earlier version of it with the PS4 and Capcom logos pixelated, like they were badly added via Paint.

I also don't see Marvel being interested in doing console games. They've been very content with mobile games. Even the PS4 Spider-Man game seems like a big leap for them right now. I also wouldn't be too excited for a roster with no Fantastic Four or X-Men characters, push towards the MCU and current comics, forced Inhumans appearances, etc. Not to mention Capcom right now is a mess.

Of course, I'd be happy to be wrong.

what I don't like is when a preexisting franchise, that was multiplat in the past, suddenly goes exclusive.

if you want exclusives, come up with your own new ips. don't "moneyhat" and buy existing franchises to make them exclusive.

I didn't like it when MS did that with Rise of Tomb Raider - though that was just a timed exclusive.

I didn't like it when Sony did it with SFV - though that turned out to be a huge disappointment.

that was the case with sf5, not with rotr which was straight moneyhatting. mS paid to not have the game released on Ps4 for a year, and sony paid to have the game made.

SF V being exclusive was one of the main reasons why I held on to my PS4 for so long. And it turned out to be yet another PS4 exclusive that underwhelmed/disappointed me.

and if Capcom is still in such dire straits that it needs Sony to fund yet another fighting game ( and another fairly popular franchise, I might add ), that doesn't inspire much confidence either.

i don't have a huge list of Ps4 games that I play often but I've been pretty satisfied with what I got

-rocket league is my most played game

-digimon story cyber sleuth was my addiction, up until that god awful ending

-uncharted 4 was amazing, pretty imperfect but still worth the wait

well, different games appeal to different players.

If there were to be another MVC, Capcom wouldn't have much control over the Marvel side just like in UMVC3. So people that weren't happy that UMVC3 wasn't just simply the MVC2 roster with added characters or that the roster wasn't chock full of X-men characters would be disappointed again. The majority of the Marvel side would be picked due to some kind of promotion. Most likely who will be making an appearance in the MCU films and TV shows. IE characters such as Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Thanos, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Punisher etc. Which was one of the reasons Rocket Raccoon made it in UMVC3. And due to Guardians' huge success, if by some slim chance there's ever a MVC4, we shouldn't be too surprised if it has Star-Lord and Groot in it.

Also, now that Spider-Man is in the MCU, the chances of a little bit more Spidey representation could be a little higher this time. The lack of Spider-Man villains in MVC3 was pretty sad.

Spider-Man's franchise has never had a pretty big presence in these games. It's always pretty much been Spidey and Venom. It depends on how many character slots both sides have in the new game.

I could easily see Spider-Man and Venom again but if we're only at around 18 Marvel fighters in the last one, other characters are gonna take precedence over addition Spider-Man villains.

The only omission that hurt for me was a lack of Cyclops, Cable, and Gambit. Pretty much all the missing X-Men. I definitely would want them well before any Spidey characters. Heck even Spidey himself, who just never really made an impression the way other characters have.

I missed Megaman, or X. A freaking lot! I still don't get why they left him out and that still irritates me.
