oh, and I'm hoping they release some sweet MvC Infinite PSN avatars like they have with the SF games.

So does Capcom not count in the SAG strike here? I recall they weren't one of the companies listed being striked against.

Also, this game is going to have a cinematic story campaign, which is not something any of the previous MvC games had. That could be cool to see what they come up with.

a full blown cinematic story campaign could limit the roster size.

Well we know it's going to be a full-blown cinematic story campaign. I don't see how it has to really limit the roster necessarily.

well, a bigger roster would mean more characters to animate in a full blown cinematic story. which would mean more time and money.

Well Mortal Kombat 9 used Kintaro in the story campaign, so they had his character model done and animated and everything, but you could never play as Kintaro for the game (mods don't count).

I don't see why it has to limit a roster. I'm sure we will still get a nice size roster.

^ yeah. I hope so, too.

I saw someone on another board mention Breath of Fire characters for Capcom's side.

I'm not sure about BOF's Ryu ( due to the other Ryu ), but I'd love to see a BOF character like Nina from the 1st game ( she had a sword/rapier in that one, I think ).

It's going to be weird because all the Marvel characters are set in their own universe. There isn't really a "Capcom shared universe." Technically, they are all separate universes. Though I guess Final Fight and Street Fighter can technically have a shared continuity. Street Fighter characters have been in Final Fight and vice versa.

I agree with vile the video I put up last night

the dev's stated they named it infinity for more then just the infinity stones of the gauntlet it shouldn't limit the character roster. if anything story mode be some that's good for it.

as to the voice actor's I'm sure what I've been seeing of late alot of the English voice dubbed games seem to be back on track again.

That assumes every character in the game shows up in story mode cut scenes.

^ that's true. guess we'll have to see. I want as big of a roster as possible. but I'm more concerned about the faction of characters Marvel seems to want to deemphasize ( due to movie studio rights or whatever ), namely the X-Men and FF characters.

I've even read somewhere that the Maximoff twins are a "tricky" subject when it comes to Marvel's approval. Hopefully Scarlet being in the MCU Avengers ups her chance for inclusion. She'd also be a visually interesting character in terms of her powers and potential moveset.

looks like UMvC3 will be getting a physical release for PS4 and X1, in March as a Gamestop exclusive. For $30.

I'll stick with the $25 digital version

I dont see why they would be. That sounds like more typical fan speculation.

yeah. and it's only like 5GB in size. so not too bad to download.

I have a few questions. Does it share the same trophy list as the PS3 version? I mean is it a seperate trophy list for the PS4 version or do you pick up where you left off? Do your online stats carry over and were you able to find any matches? I tried the PS3 version yesterday and it was dead

This will be the third time I bought this game as I had the original as well. I wish there was a remix mode like with USFIV that let you play with the original's balance and mechanics bc I hated what they did with Jean in UMvC3

I'm not sure. but I believe it's a separate trophy list that doesn't carry over from the PS3 version.

They seem to ebb and flow depending on the game. They were allowed to appear in Lego Avengers and a few of the mobile games, but have been noticeably absent from Avengers Academy, to the point that the game's tie-in to the Civil War movie (which had everyone else from the movie, even Sharon Carter) randomly replaced Wanda with Lady Sif.

They were also left out of Disney Infinity altogether, which was again notable since every other Avenger and MCU hero was in the game, even as team-ups or NPCs. This was what the game's VP of production said when asked why Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver weren't in the game:

I think it is important to be transparent with you guys, though, and let you know that there are certain legal restrictions around certain characters that we can bring into Disney Infinity and that we can’t. Even some games are allowed to, because they’re just standalone video games, have those characters appear inside of them.

Because we have the toy and the game element, it’s very difficult for us to do both because of existing partnerships that those companies might have. I’m trying to be transparent and not give you too much detail. That’s what that is. If you’re ever wondering, like, “Well, it just seems so ‘duh’, you should do this character or that character,” I would say don’t think that we haven’t thought about it.

^ yeah, it's all those possible restrictions I'm worried about.

I'm kinda shocked Groot isn't in as a character. Yet.

they may save Guardian reveals closer to the movie release.

We've had a grand total of four characters and the game was only announced four days ago.

Give it time.

That is awesome! Would even make up for a butchered roster (if that happens) for me.
