Shouldn't we have a sepArate thread for MVCI?
oh I looked into that too during the time marvel's avengers allince 2 came about the only rule this rumor really applied to was the one's disney published and distrbuted ones with the exception of avengers alliance 1 as a separate thing from where marvel them selve were doing so with marvel heroes the game and contest of champions.https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016...cters-are-lock-marvel-vs-capcom-infinite-dlc/
I know this isn't confirmed, but as I've said elsewhere, this so-called character ban for X-Men and Fantastic Four has never been 1) official 2) absolute. Also, the rumor that they wouldn't be in there was more or less speculation on the part of Polygon. It under no circumstances really confirmed no X-Men or Fantastic Four characters at all.
Now I will acknowledge I could turn out to be wrong, but why wouldn't you insert Wolverine into this game? Or maybe Doctor Doom for that matter?
well it was all of the media. I know the smart ones didn't bother with that stuff and are just waiting for some certain games that were promised for console to be confirmed. it's most from the fans side .I think fans and media in general blew the conflict out of proportion. Ultimately, we shall see.

Yes it's a shame that it has pretty much died out as a cultural thing in England, although still some good ones in central London. I remember being pretty amazed when I first saw X-Men Vs Street-Fighter!yeah. I miss the arcade scene.........
I'm sure a game like MvC Infinite would be a huge hit in the arcades.
but with PSN/Live, and the home consoles being so powerful enough, I guess there's no real reason for the arcades.
still, there was something social about the arcades. and special, too, when you walked in and discovered a totally brand new game you've never heard of ( like Xmen vs SF ). Back then, the internet was in it's infancy, so we didn't have sites like this or IGN or whatever to keep abreast of news.
there were these things called magazines, though........

I was big into the gaming magazines and kept all of them until only about 5 years ago...just took up way too much space. I loved rereading some classic really well written original reviews from games like SFII, Super Mario World, Mario Kart, Starfox, Super Star Wars, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider and FFVII & VIII. Can still picture them in detail and remember the screenshots used!
Wonder if that means we'll see more characters that made it high on those polls. For example, I think in both the Japanese and American Poll, Venom took the #1 spot for most requested Marvel character.

I'd be surprised if they ignored polls completely when filling out the remaining slots.
I've heard Psylocke ranks pretty high, too, as a requested character.
I've voted for her myself enough times.![]()

In regards to the polls, even though certain Marvel characters were highly requested, it was Marvel themselves that had the final say on which could get in. Hence why four of the added Capcom characters in UMVC3 were ones that were highly requested and out of the added Marvel characters, the only one that was highly requested was Ghost Rider. Though it's likely he was chosen to promote his upcoming movie at the time.
Venom may be highly requested, but the issue with him is that the majority of the people want the Eddie Brock version which is also what Capcom wanted. However Marvel wanted the Flash Thompson version since that was the current version at the time in the comics. And if that version had gotten in instead, the people that only knew Venom from the cartoons and video games would have been raging because they'd have no idea what was going on.

B*******. I'm not calling that b******* on your end but I am calling it b******* on Marvel and Capcom's end, because if Marvel really only wanted characters that were active and still alive in the comic books then why did they allow Jean Grey and Richard Rider in Marvel vs Capcom? Jean Grey was dead at the time and they hadn't replaced her with the teenage version from All Star X-Men and Rick Rider was dead and Sam Alexander was the current Nova but they still used Ricks version. So there's no excuse why Eddie Brock's Venom couldn't have been in the game.
