Mass Effect 2

The Rachni really don't have anything to do yet. They're still rebuilding, that will all play out in 3.

Did anyone else think that Cerebrus was behind the attack on the Normandy? While playing the game, I didnt get what the point of the first scene with Miranda and Illusive Man was. They talked about how they needed Shepard in order to get the Council to listen to them. So I though they attacked his ship in order to capture him (bc everyone else was expendable) and get him on their side. I thought that would be the big twist revealed later in the game with Miranda possibly ordering the attack. Of course none of this went down. Anyone else get the feeling early on that this is what happened?

I also thought Miranda's father would show up. One theory I had was that he was the Illusive Man and he had her under his control without her even knowing it. I guess this could possibly still play out in ME3

Definitely. Even now, I still can't shake the feeling that Cerberus (or the Illusive Man at the very least) is involved in one way or another with either the Collectors or the Reapers.

yeah the Illusive Man definetly felt suspicious how adamant he was about saving the Collector's base. I dont quite trust him

Yes, Cerberus was behind the Collector attack and working with the Reapers. So they could have Shepard killed and then pursue an incredibly expensive experiment to bring him back with no guarantee of success. That is why TIM played a major role in killing off the Reaper slave race and ******* up their plans.

It makes perfect sense.

Well, according to the comics, it seems like the Illusive Man had some knowledge of the Reapers since way back toward the end of the First Contact War. Maybe he's so adamant about saving the Collector Base because the Reapers (and by extension the Collectors) are basically the white whale to his Ahab.

That I can understand. That makes sense. What doesn't make sense is people suggesting he deliberately set up the Collector attack or is working with the Reapers. That doesn't make sense.

No. No, that does not make sense. I can't even see it if he thinks the Reapers are somehow going to elevate humanity as a reward for cooperation, really. Dude's got full-on Lex Luthor syndrome. Humanity must succeed on its own at all costs. He tolerates the aliens on Shep's crew solely because Shep is in charge. I just don't see him making himself or Cerberus subservient to aliens.

Is the Illusive Man in charge of Cerebus? I kept thinking that there might be a force above him. It felt odd that Shep and the rest of the crew would have such direct contact with the head honcho. Im thinking he might be working for someone

Nope, I'm pretty sure he's the head of Cerberus. I don't think it's odd at all for Shepard to be working directly for the big cheese, either. The guy spent a metric ton of cash raising Shepard from the dead and, as we've established, he has a pretty major interest in the Reaper threat. Quite frankly, I would be shocked if he'd handed Shep off to some underling.

I really don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that IM might be indoctrinated.

Its not just Shep but the other members to. Like right after Jacob's loyalty mission, Jacob just walks into the room to talk directly with him. He's below Miranda and Shepard

Oh and speaking of whichon that mission, the colonists say that Jacob wears the face of [blackout]his father[/blackout] but the two look nothing alike. Heck my Shepard looks more like him than Jacob did.

He's also on the team tasked with dealing directly with the Reaper threat. Shepard and the Reapers are of particular interest to the Illusive Man, which means everyone on Shepard's team is of particular interest to him as well.

Not impossible, just very unlikely based on what I know of the character.

Unless the Reapers really DO want to screw up their own plans by having TIM resurrect their greatest enemy and destroy their greatest remaining in-galaxy backup, I do not see a single way this makes sense.

It doesn't have to make perfect sense. It was just an idea.

I don't think there's anyone pulling the Illusive Man's strings or that he's in league with the Reapers in any way - it doesn't fit any of his actions, especially raising Shepard of all people back from the dead or the cat and mouse game that he and Shepard played with the Collectors/Reapers.

My personal conspiracy theory is that members of the Alliance knew about the Reapers pre-ME1 and in fact might even HAVE a Reaper or parts of a Reaper hidden away per the greybox from Kasumi's quest.

Just got done beating it with my first save from the first game. The ending battle was a bit anticlimactic, but that ending was just wow. I really can't wait for the third game because this one was incredible.

As for The Illusive Man, I think that he has something up his sleeve that he isn't telling anyone. Not in the sense of working with the Reapers, but a guy like that never reveals everything. I think in part 3 we will see what he has in store.

Since I got the Shadow Broker DLC, I read that I can continue my romance with Liara in this mission. However, since I want my Shepard to get hooked up with Miranda in ME2, can I pursue both women or do I have to choose? I don't want to miss out on Miranda like I did with Ashley.

The game doesn't really address it. There's no breakup scene with Miranda so as far as I know you're still in a relationship with the both of them.

Yes! Someone else who attacks with sarcasm! I am not alone!

Choose. If you have a relationship with anyone else... you're technically cheating on Liara.

I missed out on Ashley on my two playthroughs with part 1, but I did make sweet inter-species erotica with Liara. I actually hated Ashley because she seemed so uptight while most of the crew were pretty cool to talk to. I still wish that I got my renegade with her though. Would've seemed a little cool since I ended up killing her instead of Kaiden on my second run.

I just had to do Miranda though. In my main quest I needed to bang that hot bod just to give my Shep those props. lol Too bad I turned down Tali. She's always been one of my favorites.

So just like in ME1 you can only romance one person? What if I wanted my Shep to be like Kirk and bang every female alien that looked at him? :csad:

This is really old but I just saw it for the first time. Its concept art for the first Normandy, kind of interesting to see that some elements returned for the Normandy 2, the color scheme and the hull specifically.
