Mass Effect 2

Oh, in that case I don't know. Only way to find out is to save and go for it.

You might want to skip the Cerberus Network. It's not required for the important DLCs.

I read that it gives you some DLC weapons and such, although I don't know how good those are since from what I understand ME2 has several DLC packs for weapons.

I think Zaeed is part of the Cerberus network, his quest is fairly good. Depends on how much you want all the content.

As for the Liara situation.

Sleep with her, if you don't from what I read at Mass Effect wiki you'll still be in a romance with her by the game's accounting. Ashley at this point is no longer available, as I said once you pass Liara's 3rd or Ashley's 4th convo you are LOCKED in that romance.

I kind of want all the DLC contents for ME2, and if buying the Ceberus Network card is cheaper than getting it from the Marketplace, it might be worthwhile to buy.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying. I just wished that I knew I was locked in with Liara in the 3rd conversation, otherwise I would've rejected her. I didn't do that because I was trying to set up a situation where I must choose between the two, and I thought if I reject Liara it won't happen. And Ashley is alot harder to pursue than Liara imo.

Yeah I really wasn't happy with the romance mechanics in the first one which seemed so arbitrary in that regard. Without reverting to another save there's really just no way around that mess.

hey guys, do you know if there's some kind of exploit where you can obtain the weapons that you only find on the hardest difficulties w.o having to play the whole level on that difficulty, like can you start it on insane, then change it, and still find the weapon there?

You can still get the weapons on Hardcore but as far as an exploit I know you only need to do that particular level on that difficulty but no there's no way to exploit the system as far as I know.

finally finished AC Brotherhood so now i'm finally free to get started on this game. needless to say im very excited.

Got the platinum for this game, only challenging trophy was beating it on insanity difficulty

I've been wondering, are there any sound effects issues during some cinematics on the other versions, cause on my ps3 sometimes the sound effects of gunshots are 1 second or 2 behind the action

Damn, it's a minor thing but still something very noticeable, I hope they have a patch in the works

Well I beat ME1 and started the second this weekend. I was undecided on whether to continue with the PC version or just stick with the PS3 one. I tried the demo for both. The game seemed to defiently look better on the PS3. I got so used to the mouse/keyboard though that I wasnt sure if I wanted to give that up.Ultimately I did and am playing the PS3 game. I configured my guy to look as close to my original Shepard as possible. Thank god for the interactive comic, bc with it I could import my original decisions.

So far enjoying the game. Will have to post some more thoughts later on.

My problem right now is that if I pick Ilios as my destination (which is the final stop for me aside from several minor quests), Liara will approach my Shepard, not Ashley. If I turn down Liara I don't know if there will be another chance, since the cutscene will lead to Ilios and from what I understand, the story is over afterward.
I had the same issue. I thought I was buiilding a romance with Ashley but was approached with Liara at the end. Actually I was romancing them both bc I read that there would be a scene where they confront you and make you make a choice. I never got that. Oh well. I used the comic to getme Ashley, as I initially was waning

What setting were you running it at?

Just played the Shadow Broker mission. My god, was the location gorgeous. I died several times because I couldnt help but just stand there looking at the scenery. One of the best designs and executions of the PS3's power to date.

Gettign back on the topic of the romances/relationships with characters...

I'm playing as the female Shepard - am I just bound to the male characters? If so, any way to avoid romances, lol? I'm also on Miranda's bad side after an argument with Zero; I take it I can't fix that?

Yeah, I just got around to playing Shadow Broker not long ago as well and it was awesome.

You can fix the situation with Miranda if you get your paragon/renegade scores up high enough.

As for avoiding romances, generally after their loyalty quest is done you'll see the option to turn the relationship romantic following their post-mission dialogue. Remember the game auto-saves after you switch decks so if you should start one by accident you can always load up again and just redo the conversation.

cool. Another question:

I've got the PS3 version. It says it comes with a Motion Comic, but I have yet to come across it upon first starting the game, and looking through the menus and DLC screens. Am I blind? Where is this thing?!

It should have been the first thing that came up when you started a new game. It was what recapped the first game and let you choose the big choices from the first game.

All I got was the typical "choose your character class" stuff after the opening scene in the Normandy...:huh::huh:

Oh well, I'm nearly finished with the game. I'll just make sure I catch it when I replay.

Did you redeem the Cerberus network voucher? You hAve to have it installed for the comic to come up, if you bought a new copy there should be a voucher for it inside

Ah. That’s what it was. I didn’t redeem the voucher until a few missions in. Didn’t think it was essential for anything.

I LOVE Miranda. Man she just may be the best new female introduced this generation. She rocks. I thought she was Ashley on the cover till I started the game. I definetly will start the romance up with her bc she seems like a better fit than Ashley ever did for my Shepard. I really like her backstory and cant wait to see more of it unfold.

As a matter of fact so far Im enjoying all the new characters. Really liking Jacob too. I think the game is doing alot better at developing and presenting them than the first game did.

What setting were you running it at?
the highest settings

Actually its not the first thing that comes up. It should come up right after the intro section [BLACKOUT]where the ship is destroyed[/BLACKOUT]

I think its more for people that played ME1 and want to import their decisions into ME2. Without playing the first game, the context behind those decisions and all that went into it would be meaningless to a new player bc the comic was a VERY brief recap. It didnt really dig into why those choices were such a dilemna

I've been replaying this game lately after almost a year later getting it. It's still amazing but I gotta say the overall arcing story is not that great. Collectors are killing, get your team and kill them. The thing that makes this game amazing is the characters, all of them are just fantastic in how they are written and voice acted. The characters all have really interesting stories behind them and the fact that you can explore each one is brilliant.
