Mass Effect 2

interesting. so did anyone here play ME2 without playing the first game or using the digital comic? what was that experience like, did the game just decided who died in the first game for you?

Yeah, I think there's a default set of ME settings. Although I believe who survived Virmire in the first game tends to be whoever is opposite your Shepard's gender.

No, it's an interactive comic... you get to choose all of the major choices in ME1. Shepard narrates and you chose what he says next like "The Rachni Queen was trapped, it was up to me on what to do with here..."

Press X to let the Queen go, Press Circle to kill her...

I pressed X as it's what I did on the 360 version and Shepard continued...

"So I let her go. I wasn't going to commit genocide based on poor choices from the past.."

Same thing goes for saving Rex, or choosing between Ash and Kaiden.

yeah i know. thats how i played it. but if dont download the Cerberus server you skip that completely and thats what i was asking about.

Ah, I see that now, read your post wrong, my bad. Then yeah.. What Corp said.

Unless you listen to the real BioWare "fans" that hate ME2 and the like...

As for playing the game on Insanity.... No. I like to have fun playing my games even if it's the 100th time playing it. I have no desire to get angry and overly tough AI nor do I care about how "complete" my trophy sets look...

Or achievements for that matter.
Oh trust me, the Insanity run was one of the funnest and funniest things I've ever played. Its just that second Praetorian that had me weeping, as well as accidentally doing that N7 Crashed Ship mission with the endless robots you have to fight through to gtet to the shuttle. I had no tech specialists with me and my last save was several hours earlier. Pain.

But apart from that its great, the Suicide Mission in particular makes you feel like a big damn hero.

Arrival Coming Out March 29

In Mass Effect: Arrival, Commander Shepard is sent to the edge of the galaxy to rescue an undercover operative who may have evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion that has been looming since the very beginning of the series. Returning and playing a prominent role in Mass Effect: Arrival is fan favorite Admiral Hackett, who is voiced by legendary science-fiction actor Lance Henriksen (Alien, Terminator).

“All year, we have been extremely honored and humbled by the reception we have received for Mass Effect 2 from players around the world, including our post release DLC”, said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer, Mass Effect series. “Mass Effect: Arrival is an exciting extension to Mass Effect 2 and will show players just how close the Reapers are to returning and completing their deadly harvest.”

Available for download on March 29, 2011, Mass Effect: Arrival will also include three new achievements for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system and PC and three new trophies on PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The PDLC pack will be available for 560 MS Points on Xbox 360, £5.49 on PlayStation Network and also available for PC for 560 BioWare Points.

Can't wait!

HACKETT!!!!!!

He's dying, calling it now.

Wow, March 29, that's not far off at all.

Finally we get to see how Admiral Hackett looks like.

March 29th is pretty close. Hopefully, my 360 is fixed and back to me by then, but that is looking unlikely it seems.

Whenver I read JewishHobbit's quote in your sig I do so in a Solid Snake voice.

Well, I 've always thought I'd make a good MGS character for Snake to interact with

Hmm. Same price as Overlord. I wonder if that's indicative of the quality (or quantity) of the content.

Weren't they all around the same price? I didn't mind Overlord once I was able to get out of the stupid Hammer Head.

Which, I know wasn't much... I'm just not a huge fan of driving around in the ME games, lol.

Lair of the Shadow Broker is the only dlc that cost 800 ms. I'm hoping that Arrival will be the same high quality as Lair of the Shadow Broker was.

March 29th? But I'll be busy with Crysis 2 at that time. :(

Why you do dis Bioware?

yeah i hated driving that Hammer Head. and i couldnt stand looking at some of the texture maps on the scenery while driving it. looked like i was driving on an N64.

I didn't mind the Hammerhead so much....enjoyed Overlord and Shadow Broker

Overload definitely tugged on the emotion cords there at the end.

I started my Insanity run this week after beating ME1 again with my new female character, Rayna Shepard, who's the younger sister of my male Shepard. Im playing her as a Renegade and going for all opposite choices.

Insanity has frustrated in some sections but its not as difficult as I thought it would be. Im however having a hard time with the final section of Horizon. Anyone have tips? Im a Sentinel and using Grunt and Miranda right now

Edited to add: Just beat it. Actually wasnt as bad as the section that came just before it. Damn those husks with armor are annoying

The last few minutes are absolutely amazing, especially the bit where David finally talks and Archer's reaction. He manages to be sympathetic and more monstrous at the same time.

Oh I agree, Overlord is GOOD DLC... I just hated the Hammer Head parts... I just don't like driving around in ME. I hated it a bit less in 2... but still.

The ending of it is pretty emotional... but the entire time I was playing it I kept thinking "Lawnmower Man" lol.
