I like the weapons customization, it reminds me of Dead Space. And I approve of the option to change the colour of your weapons. And also, the quick glimpse of the other planets were pretty cool too.

You get an N7 weapon pack, alternate costumes for squaddies, extra armor and casual outfit for Shepard, a robot dog for the Normandy, and an extra mission and squad mate.

The ME1 CE came as a flimsy slip cover and big-big-big fat tin case which opens like a box. Inside was a case for the game and a behind-the-scenes DVD with a few videos on it and a few bonuses like, you know, little gamer pics for XBL and themes for the dashboard. Then there's the instruction manual, art book, codex book, and another book that was like a mini-guide to the ME universe. It was kinda neat, but ultimately nothing you couldn't have read in the game. I think the DVD even had game demos on it.

Generally you can preorder a CE up to a week or two before the game releases. After that, most retailers will pull the SKU.

it's just that, if I recall, there was a game recently that had a CE and it "sold out" fairly quickly in terms of preorders, and Gamestop stopped offering it.

It is. I'm really surprised at the price. When I saw all that stuff, I thought for sure it would be $100, maybe even more based on most other collector's editions.

With a lot of the CE's, the company will only send the number of reserves you have with maybe a few extras. For instance, the store i work at had like 12 Mortal Kombat collectors editions preordered and they sent us 14, one extra for each system(which we still have in stock btw).

Like i said, generally the week prior to release is when they stop taking the preorders on those CE's.

I missed out on the ME2 CE, so I'm definitely going to order this one.

just trying to decide if I should order it for Xbox or PS3.

do you think there will be much difference, graphics wise, between then Xbox and PS3 version?

it seems all the footage we've seen so far has been of the Xbox version, no?

Yeah I think I'll preorder the CE also. Never really pre-ordered a game before, let alone a CE. But Mass Effect will be my first.
