Just a head's up:

Since last week's multiplayer event was a success BW's put out a free victory pack available for the next 130 hrs that is guaranteed to have a N7 character in it

And ...ehh...i wished they had the balls to actually use femshep instead. It would've made the project more unique.

I've started my first FemShep playthrough recently & I don't get why everyone has a ***** for her. I don't see why people think Hale's voice acting is so superior to Meer's, she's good but I don't see that huge of a difference. Maybe that'll change in 2 & 3, which I think are better games.

I say no love interest in ME1 & save the love interest for ME2 & Miranda
Yuck. If I was to do it, I'd have Liara in 1 & Tali in 2/3. But I don't think that will happen...atleast the Tali bit. Seeing as how Liara seems to be the "canon" romance, I think that's what we'll see in the movie. She might even be a main character in a possible ME2 movie because of that.

if they do make a ME movie, I'd rather it NOT follow the storyline in the games. especially knowing how it all ends......lol
I'm 110% sure that they'd change the ending for the movies. If gamers hated it, movie fans will rip it to shreds.

I personally liked Hale less in ME2/3, I found her work in 1 to be more balanced whereas I felt like she had difficulty finding the right tone in the later games - whereas Meer flourished as the series went on.

That's all relative of course, they both did pretty good jobs.

What an odd comment. Especially considering that people who play as male Shep vastly outnumbered the ones who play as fem-Shep.It's funny that from reading comments on various forums etc, it seems that some gamers considers it an insult or at the very least strange that some people (guys) chose to play as fem-shep.It may seems strange, but there are guys like me who feels secure enough about our manhood that we see no problems playing a female character in a video game.

As for why i would like a female Shepard instead, i thought it would be a refreshing change instead of seeing yet another sci-fi/action movies with a 30-something male protagonist. I'm fully aware that the chance of seeing it happened is next to nothing. That's why i said 'i wished they had the balls...'

Gotta disagree here. I thought she did a much better job on this installment...especially during the more emotional, quiet scenes. But yeah...in the end, it's all about personal prefference. IMO, they both did an outstanding job.

My stance on the voice acting is that Meer was very dry in ME1, but improved a lot in subsequent games and especially shined in ME3. Hale, on the other hand is more even and consistent across all of the games. The thing I don't like about Hale's voice acting in these games is, at least to me, the way she plays Shepard makes her sound very impatient and disinterested in whatever is going on. When I was doing my Femshep playthrough I kept thinking, "Damn it Femshep, do you have someplace else you would rather be??"

^^ I got the exact opposite impression to be honest. The only thing i didn't really like is when she's screaming orders.Luckily, in ME 3 that kind of scenes didn't happen too much. There are more...character moments and quiet scenes and to me that's where she shines. At the risk of sounding cheesy, those are the moments i like most in the game, and it wouldn't have worked if hale didn't deliver big time. For example, you can almost hear the pain and sadness in her voice when femshep had to say goodbye to garrus etc .

But like i said earlier, it all comes down to prefference. If you're inclined to play as male Shep, there are going to be things that you'll find lacking in femShep and vice versa.

On an unrelated note, Bioware is supposed to announce something today. Any guess on what that might be? I'm hoping for a SP DLC!

Bioware just announced Leviathan at their Summer thing and showed off a trailer for it.

Trailer starts up at 1:20.

Looked very very cool. Its been announced for "late this summer" (personal guess is Sept).

Also they're releasing a single-player weapon DLC pack with 2 new weapons in addition to some of the MP guns.

^^ yeah..just read about it over at BSN. Looks cool!

Glad that it's finally something for the SP.

That DLC looks really cool, I'll definitely be picking it up. Maybe it'll be released before I get to ME3 on my FemShep playthrough.

It'll be weird, though. Playing that DLC ,knowing the outcome of the game.

Oh and i hope they won't insult us this time by adding some millitary assets by the end of the DLC:oldrazz:

From the stuff that leaked out a while ago, this sounds like it could be cool as hell, however... with the way the game ended I just don't think I want to go back. It seems sort of pointless.

You mean you don't want to beat the game with a brand new war asset you'll never see make any impact whatsoever in the endgame? :wow:

Trailer was pretty good though. Not buying it, but nice trailer.

yo he (soapy) has that right. I don't mind it though I did play it to the end, but I do want to do my play through over again. if there was an added bonus with each new story DLC it'll add something even newer / extra to my ending it'd be cool, but it's not likely to happen. it'd still be cool though.

So it's not part of the free DLC huh? oh well I'll get it when I'm ready.

and in other ME3 news

See, I've read that it WILL tweak the ending somehow... details obviously unrevealed at this point.

Really? Then it is worth more than what I originally thought it was then. Though I can see some people not liking it so much though. from what i gather most people are wanting to see things taking place after you saved the universe already.

Bioware has more or less made it official that, as of now, there are zero plans to release post-ending content.

I think the DLC looks good, and the environment looks like it'll be a really neat little shift from what's been "normal" so far. Download size wise they're calling it on par with Lair of the Shadow Broker.

Since I haven't played ME3 since I initially beat it in March I have no problem waiting this out, downloading it and the EC and seeing how things shake out.

That's fine with me, I didn't expect there to be that much of post Dlc end content/ gameplay any way. that stuff with Aria would most likely be before that any way and I mean before you finish the game and you end sheps story.

Unless it's with another playable character, I don't see how they could do post ending dlc anyway, but yea definitely getting this day one

Makes sense since like Shadowbroker it looks like there are 2 locations (the archeological dig site, and Leviathan's underwater location).

Thinking I'll bring Javik on this for sure. As far as future playthroughs w/ DLC I think I'll wedge them in after the Geth/Quarian war but before Thessia, there's a nice little narrative break there that I feel like they can slip into quite nicely.

Single Player DLC? Well it's about goddamn time! I'll be looking forward to it. I wonder who said "You have come too far". Sounded like Harbinger, but I know it wasn't.

Wow, this looks really interesting for sure.

I wish I could be excited for it but I am bit burned out on Mass Effect, at the moment. But I might get the DLC later when my interest in the series is back.

So..from what we've known so far: there'll be a new area open on the citadel, where you start the mission. And if you're willing to trust IGN, there'll be some changes to the ending.I'm guessing it'll be a couple of new lines from Casper the friendly AI.

I'll be getting this one for sure...maybe twice just because the fans going crazy at BSN telling people not to buy the DLC:oldrazz:

Anyway...i'm hoping that the next DLC would be the re taking of Omega since they've found unused dialoques from Aria about that subject on the disc.
