^^ You mean warren Christie?

Hmm..no. He can handle action scenes, but he's not, imo, charismatic enough to be Commander Shepard.
You won't know until he's given a shot that was what said about Heath ledger as joker at one point. Not saying he's ledger, but you don't really know. Besides the way their pushing the character of his called Hicks he's gonna be the all out hero in that sense.

And movies of holly wood as you know don't really care to show case a leader really leading for some damn reason. So the charismatic thing will be thrown out the window any way. Unless they make him a loud mouth /sarcastic type. which is what that means to those movie makers any way. especially since their mostlikely to ignore the source material any way.

^^ see the thing is, you'll need an actor with-how do you say it- commanding presence to be able to portray Shepard. Good acting skills alone won't cut it. This is the guy that all the galaxy listens to. Not because of his title, but because of what he is. We're going to need someone with tons of charisma and screen presence to pull that off.

Warren is a good actor, but in my opinion, he lacks that 'it' factor.

But that's only one of the challenges this project going to face. In my opinion, while the overall story of the mass effect saga is good..it's not really that special. The real strenght in my opinion, is the incredibly well written characters. Given how Hollywood treats most of it's blockbuster projects...well, i'm not really all that hopeful.

And ...ehh...i wished they had the balls to actually use femshep instead. It would've made the project more unique.

They'll twist it around and say he(male shep) has a fraternal twin sister. If the scripts done right I think warren christie can pull it off. He just needs the right people working with him. And he as the other stuff going for him. Besides a good team covers each others short comings or help each member of them selves to improve so those weakness's aren't there any more. there always room for him to improve during that time.

Besides I saw the season premier of season 2 of alpha's last night, with that prison break, the agents in that show sure fallowed his characters orders when he made them.

^^ i dunno.

Aside from getting the right script done, getting the right person for Shepard is obviously crucial. best way is to get an unknown actor i think. But as to whom it might be, i honestly can't say.

I think Matt done a fantasy casting for ME a while ago. Can't remember who he picked for male Shepard.

As for other ME cast of characters...they have to get them right. Those are not merely supporting characters. They are what made the whole ME saga what it is.if its not for those well written characters, ME would be just another shoot-em-up SCI-FI RPG game.

If you remember I said I liked matts list cept for the lead cause the man from Burn notice Jefferey Donovan which I love watching is more well known then warren christie. and christie is the same build and has shepards look down pat without trying, Not to mention right age range as well since he's at the age shepard started out in the game. and he's already playing a Marin turned agent in alpha's. and is a more relative unknown then Donovan. Other wise with the rest of what you said on the other characters, I do agree with what you said.

It depends on who you have in mind for her. I'm ok with a female shep. if they choose to go that way as well. With a nod to the fraternal twin thing.

^^ Can't be somebody too young....or too frail looking.Definitely not a girly-girl type actress.Looks is not really that important since in the game, you can customize Shepard looks anyway.

So, in short...i really have no clue:oldrazz:

Well I'm open to a female shep if you find some one, put her name up as soon as you find her.

IMO the ideal FemShep is Annie Wersching. She was the female lead on 24 during its final two seasons. She is a dead wringer for FemShep and a pretty damn good actress

That said, I would be SHOCKED if the studio went with FemShep. The target demographic for this movie will be males 16-40 and they overwhelmingly respond more positively to a male lead character than a female in these types of movies. Studio logic will ensure that it is male Shepard.

I for one am happy that they are adapting. I don't want to see just some random story set in the ME universe. I want to see the Reaper War come to life. Yes, the story has been told in video games. To that I say, so what? Lord of the Rings was already told in written word. That doesn't mean a movie shouldn't have been made. Film allows the story to be told from a new perspective and in a different, more dynamic and visual manner. I am stoked for it.

That said, I have my doubts that it will get off the ground. I anticipate it going the way of the Halo movie. This will be a massive undertaking on par with something like the LOTR trilogy or the Harry Potter films. It will require an expansive cast and a massive budget. The most successful video game movie to date only made 130 million domestically. The most expensive video game movie to date (Prince of Persia, which has a 200 million dollar budget) bombed. Legendary can't finance this themselves. They will need their usual partner in crime, Warners or another major studio and I just can't see any of them taking this risk until we see a successful video game franchise (Resident Evil barely makes its budget back mind you and is only successful by the merit of being ridiculously cheap to produce).

But just for fun and because you guys asked so nicely, here is a link to my now almost famous, MATT'S MASS EFFECT CASTING CALL:

Is that the chick that played Renee from 24? hmmm that pic looks younger from when I last saw her . which I think was NCIS. I can't remember if it was L.a. or the original. (it'll come to me) hmmm. she'll do. hehe I almost thought some one was gonna suggest kristina Hendrix's but I don't think she's the type that does stunts.

I think it would be cool if they mentioned that John (Shepards default name) had a twin sister who was also a commander in the Alliance fleet and about how they have a strong bloodline.. just as a little nod to FemShep players.

All I want is Seth Green as Joker.. I know they originally said "no" but now since casting is back to "We have no one yet" I really hope they use him. Hearing ANYONE else as Jeff would just be.... Weird.

yeah, true enough. But that's why i said that i wished they had the balls to go with femshep instead. In my opinion, it's no more of a risk than making a CB movie about a guy who calls himself Captain America...remember the snickers when marvel announced the movie?

If anything, today GA proves that as long as the package looks good, and actually delivers, they will come.

That said, you're pretty good with this casting stuff! i hereby demand that you do one for my all time fav games; FO3 And FO;NV!

If the Mass Effect movie trilogy can end things better then the games did. Then I am all for it. Just keep any & all scripts away from Casey Hudson at all cost

The thing is, comic movies were built up to. Sony didn't just dump 150 million into making Spider-Man. First there was the small budget Blade. Then the moderate budget X-Men. Then Spider-Man which opened pandora's box. Video games have probably had their Blade with Resident Evil. Now they need something like X-Men. Or we could get really lucky and a Chris Nolan or JJ Abrahms (guys who have studios by the balls and can get any budget that they want) could adapt it....but that is a long shot. :(

Thank you for the kind words, but I'm afraid that I can't do Fallout. To my great shame I've never played it. Well, I started....but then I read the memo in the Executor's office about giant ants and the arachnaphobe in me couldn't bring myself to leave the vault. I traded it in a few days later. :(

That's true. Games adaptation is kind of in a slump right now. But like you said, it'll only take ONE movie to turn things around. CB movies was in the same state as games movies once, before X-MEN came along. ( I don't count Blade because marvel was stupid not to have included their name on that movie, so the GA didn't know it was adapted from a comic series)

That said, ME movie is going to be a MASSIVE project. The scale alone...if they really going to stay faithful to the source materials. A middle of the road budget just wouldn't do for this kind of project. So let's just say i'm not really that optimistic that this project is ever going to get off ground.

LOL!

Must...resist..urge..to post..giant frostbite spiders pics...

Liam Neeson has to be in a Fallout movie. No way around it.

Liam Neeson....AND Ron Perlman!

hehe..he's listed as the exec producer:oldrazz:

Believe Ron Perlman!

...And liberty prime!

Man..what if...the reapers landed on FO 3 universe instead?!?

They would have figured "Meh, job over already" and went back to Dark Space?

Would've been cool to see Liberty Prime face off against the harbinger.

Liberty prime: 'warning! communist detected on American soil!'

"chuck mini nukes at the harbinger"

I just read Homeworlds #3 which was Garrus' issue.

Really liked it, I thought the first 2 issues were largely meh, but this one managed to pack some punch. The convo between Garrus and his dad at the end was pretty neat.

^^ have you read 'invasion'? it starts one of my fav ME character...Aria

I really think, that if done right, Mass Effect on the big screen could be awesome in so many ways, and regarding actors, the only one I can see that fits the bill appearance wise at least would have to be Logan Marshall Green. For Garrus I have to agree with Matt about Sutherland, I always imagined him as Garrus.

I think Sutherland would make a much better Saren.
