Mass Effect 3 - Part 4

I actually hated Pinnacle Station. So much that I didn't even bother redownloading it after my 360 HDD reset itself.

I really showed it!

It sounds overpriced, too. Bring Down The Sky was 80 Microsoft Points...and it actually had a mission, and a story to it, with decisions to make.

Just seems odd to have it at 800 Microsoft Points, with what I've heard of Pinnacle Station.

Really don't understand this huge ***** fest over the DLC character. It's been a known fact for months, and they're still allowing people to buy it on day one. Jesus, these comments on youtube and reddit, you would think they were fighting for something real.

What do you mean by "real"? It's not credible? If it's your hobby and specifically a game you enjoy (I don't like Mass Effect I don't think it's very good) why not get upset or do something about it? People spend hundreds upon hundreds of hours of their life playing video games and alot of these companies are more than happy to shaft you if you'll take it (which the majority of games do). Personally, like alot of gamers, I think you are specifically trying to disregard it because of your personal like of Bioware and/or this game (that I don't like). If this was another game people consider crap e.g. Brink I think you and probably most of the people defending Bioware and/or EA would also be shouting off.

I mean, the people who preordered the CE ARE paying for the DLC. It's $20 extra, and a tin case doesn't cost $10 to make. However... the From Ashes DLC is a little overpriced, but so is all DLC now for any game. I was looking at the DLC for Soul Calibur V, and they have music track packs for stages, and they're like 160 mp for each one, and there are around 15. Now THAT is ridiculous. This extra character DLC, which includes other things too such as a return to Eden Prime and new outfits, isn't really a big deal to me

Meh.
It's just I don't believe a few thousand people (if that) boycotting this game will make EA change. Plus, at the end of the day, it's ****ing fifteen dollars. I know this is a horrible attitude, but we're living in the DLC age. Might as well not fight the rape.

What bothers me about the DLC is that it's launch date DLC.

That part just seems...iffy to me. The online pass stuff actually makes sense to me, or giving an incentive to buy a game new (ie: Catwoman with Arkham City).

I believe Mass Effect had some early and quick DLC, but they were for free with the online pass that came with new games.

And, I've got this growing fear with Mass Effect 3 (call it paranoia) that we're going to end up paying for Squadmates that we already have attachments to (like paying to have Mordin, or Samara, or Thane). And just the pints of cash they'll milk out of me for it.

Isn't it withheld content launch with a very important character? At least thats the jist of what I got from totalbiscuits video. If I went to watch Adam Sandler in "Jack And Jill" and I had to pay an extra 20 dollars to see Jill and only ended up with Jack, it would be outragous, as his character is both Jack and Jill. Not just Jack. The movie would be holding the character as random rather than adding the character in later on.

Edit: ^^^ So it is withheld content. Bioware use to be cool dudes before going with EA. Now I have 0 respect for them.

Wow. Just...wow.

I say fight it. But, uh...yeah...

Factor in the art book, patch and lithograph and it's probably getting close.

A lithograph can cost... what... $5 to manufacture, probably less. It's just a bunch of paper and ink. I could make my own lithograph if I had a decent printer, matte board and photo paper. Same with the patch.
The book, I guess, is what makes the price makes sense.

Fighting it would mean to NOT buy Mass Effect 3. I'm sorry, but for me, that's not an option.

**** EA and all that, but it's Mass Effect. :csad:

Well... At least it's not Activision, that's all I keep thinking.

Just saying, it comes with quite a bit more than a tin box

I'll buy it. I'm just going to wait for the price to drop. :o

If I have to spend $10 on launch day DLC, for rather important content, then I'm not buying the game at full price.

But its not "withheld content". Thats just what dumbass pissy little gamers are saying so they can justify their stupid little panty wadded tantrum. The game was COMPLETE and sent off for certification and printing BEFORE the team was able to finish this piece of DLC. This is just another example of whiney gamers not understanding how development actually works. Bioware deserves to be paid for their overtime, just like any other profession.

Yeah, because it's TOTALLY UNREALISTIC that a company would try to squeeze a few extra bucks from the fanboys by holding back a bit of content they know will sell.

Not saying that's the case here, I don't know. But the idea isn't exactly alien, come on.

There's the soundtrack, that probably helps make the package work for the price as well. Along with the DLC stuff, like the weapons, the avatar item, etc.

The N7 Edition appears, to me, to be worth the price.

Oh I definitely agree, but the fact still remains this game was done, PRIOR to the completion of the DLC. Why shouldn't they be paid for that extra work? Like i said, this is just another example of gamers not knowing enough about their own industry. The industry is here to make money. Gamers need to learn to accept that or simply GTFO.

The interesting thing about it, was that it was supposed to be exclusive to the N7 Edition. So, it can't be vital content.

They were spurned into releasing it, and charging for it, when the ****ing N7 Edition became impossible to find.

That actually sounds all right to me. Because, the N7 Edition dried up pretty quick.

This is the case with alot of DLC, it's still packed with the game, without any extra cost as incentive to prevent used sales. Here, from what I can tell, it's incentive to pay an extra £££ for (from what i'v been told) a key race from the mostly boring races in Mass Effect land. Also I doubt the collectors edition magically dropped out of thin air. EA probably had the idea laid out from the very fundation of the game, they are not dummys who make it up as they go along.

I should have bought more than one N7 edition. :(

The idea could of been drummed up 15 years ago, but it doesn't matter. They still had to spend the extra time to create the content.

And why are you in here? You hate Mass Effect and have nothing useful to contribute to the discussion. Run back to the lounge and tell us how bad gamers have it now a days. We all love hearing what you're currently whining about.

Well yea, it does. Otherwise people wouldn't be complaining about it.
That shows it does matter and is relevant to people who enjoy the franchise. The posative aspect of this as well, if people have such a knee jerk reaction, to the point it dominated the media, EA will be more cautious about negative PR in the future. So aside from being relevant to the people buying it, it's also most likely relevantto EA putting it's foot out with future titles.

I don't hate Mass Effect. I said I dislike it. If Mass Effect 3 gets a steam sale (66% off at least) I probably will pick it up. I don't like it enough to pay full price.

These venomous posts are generally your way of being defensive, I don't take it personally, you are forgiven.
