Mass Effect 3 - Part 5

From what I've gathered it sounds like what happened was that Origins though more successful was more costly to develop and one of the ways that they decided to cut back costs was to stick with a human protagonist since the data they received showed players overwhelmingly played humans. Sad state of affairs but there it is.

That's a real shame. Makes me wonder how they got that information. I think if they had asked many Origins fans whether they liked the Origin system overall they would have wanted to keep it.

Though saying that I too played the human characters the most. I've never been a big dwarf fan (unintentional pun) and though I do like trying out the elves as well I usually start off with the human.

With DA3 I expect they'll go with the main protagonist with a personality again over a mute, but I hope they manage to balance that with a choice of what race you want to be if they can (I've certainly made enough arguments on how they possibly could on the Bioware boards).

It also has to do with the story to tell. Telling the story of the Hawke family would have been different if they'd be dwarves, or especially if they were elves.

Granted, they could have written around that, but I understand the reasoning as they gave it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used the charity guise (30%) as a way of making the scummy nature of what they are doing seem less scummy like.

May I point out as I replay ME2 that Firewalker and Overlord are some of the worst DLC I have ever played. Overlord mostly because of the use of the tank from Firewalker. I swear, the cannon on that thing has the worst aim ever and it cannot take three seconds of enemy fire without being near explosion.

All the vehicles have sucked in this series. Shame too cuz planet exploration could of been awesome

I agree that the Firewalker tank isn't that fun. But Overlord had SUCH a grand finale. It brings a tear to my eye every time.:csad:

But the path to getting there is so damn tedious I am just glad to complete it by the time I finish.

I'm pretty sure the shots from the Firewalker hoverthing are homing missiles.

I've never had a problem with the Mako or Hammerhead, really.

Except for vertical cliffs with the Mako, and even then, you could drive up most of them with a little bit of wiggle.

As someone currently playing Overlord, I can tell you with total certainty that they aren't.

I swear, I'm going to give David to Archer just for pissing me off.

I didn't mind the Mako. But the Hammerhead drives me nuts.

That's kind of funny. I didn't mind the Mako either, but I thought the Hammerhead piloted much better.

The Hammerhead pilots better, but combat....I much prefer the Mako's.

I'm pretty sure you're doing it wrong then.

The Hammerhead is armed with a single gun which can only swivel vertically, but it compensates for this by boasting a fairly high rate of fire and a guided missile system that ensures accuracy even during aggressive maneuvering.

Just because a game boasts a feature doesn't mean the feature lives up to it's potential. I have the turret in my crosshairs, a red circle around him, implying that's locked on and then the rocket flies right past him.

I enjoyed the Mako for the most part. What I didn't like is that the both guns had a limit to where they were aiming. If there was a Geth right next to the vehicle, I could aim the camera right at the Geth, but the blasts would still go straight. It was annoying.

The Hammerhead is easier to control. But, far weaker. I'd get wiped out with three or four cleans shots easy.

Eventually, the only way I found myself getting past them alive...was to basically keep a distance, hiding behind lower ground to cover me from they're fire. And pretty much just bouncing up and down with the booster to fire at them from higher ground. It was pretty tedious, and not really fun. But, it got me by. Your missiles (or whatever) are seeking, but the enemies life bar has to be showing for it to target them and go to them.

I kinda preferred the Mako, personally. Being able to step out and mine minerals was okay too.

Also, after reading through Kotaku...interesting to hear that fanboy that was complaining that the video was linked to from here, was actually a joke.

i used to love running over the geth colossus

Mako was worse in regards to piloting.. But tool way more damage.

I never had a problem with the hammer head. it controlled better for me. But then again i'm also using a mouse and key board most of the time when I play ME games. So i guess it's less of a issue.

The Mako well I did come across some odd things on certain hills. all I do was go side ways slightly some times and I got through them.

as for the mako taking way more damage that was due to taking away the omni gel for repairs as even shepard states when driving the hammer head.

I've never had a problem with the handling of either vehicle, but I hate vehicle combat in both games. Maybe because I tend to favor powers over shooting, and the vehicles remove that element. You're basically just strafing back and forth and holding down the trigger in the vehicles. Kind of boring.

As for the lawsuit against those two *****es, f*** those guys. I hope EA wins. Speculators and scalpers are the worst part of any community.

The sky car case in Shadowbroker was my favorite use of vehicles thus far in the series.

Yea that was cool although I wish it was a little more open. With you being able to break off to take different routes or short cuts to catch the other vehicle. Lot of fun tho. It reminded me of the chase scene from Star Wars episode II, which was awesome
