You must have picked Destroy.

Control is Shepard grabbing the controls and disintegrating and Destroy is shooting the tube.

matt,
i chose control...and edi/geth died.

how do you know if Edi/Geth died when you chose Control?

I've watched the ending scenes, and I don't recall any of them showing Edi or the Geth dying.

The Catalyst only says synthetics will die ( which would include Edi/Geth ) if you choose Destroy........

maybe i am just assuming,
once i beat the game, i watched the other ending scenes, and EDI is in some of them. i assumed i destroyed edi and geth when i thought i chose destroy and didnt see edi at all

none of the endings really show what happened due to your choices ( which is one of the main problems with them ).

so, you'd assume Edi/Geth died with Destroy, but you never get to see it yourself.

as for who steps off the Normandy at the end, that seems to be based on who was in your Squad during the run to the Beam at the end. It seems at least one of the characters stepping off the Normandy is one you had in your squad at the end ( another confusing point about the endings ).

Did you have Edi in your squad during the rush to the Beam? Do you remember who you had in your squad at that time, and if one of those stepped off the Normandy at the end?

javik and tali... at the end... joker, javik, ashley ...i tihnk thats all that came out of the normandy

just curious......was Ash your LI?

cuz if she was, that would seem to support what others have reported. that the 3 who step off the Normandy are Joker ( always ), one from your final squad ( in your case Javik ), and your LI ( Ash? )

i mean i hate saying it, cause the ending with the crew
on the planet... is cool an all bc the relays were gone so its like started a new cycle. but it just doesnt work right. i really wanted to fight harbinger as a final boss, then make these decisions...and best possible ending : shep lives saves the day, but if it was at the cost of losing the mass relays and stuff, so be it. that woulda worked for me. but no boss... no real closure.

i may be still processing this amazingly fast paced last mission... but i leave this entire trilogy with a big WTF moment. which may work with movies... but not with a story that you yourself help tell.

i feel like im drunk high and tripping right now.

what if your LI is someone like Miranda?

its a pattern of a penis being rammed up its fans

oops.

and that is the problem that many of us have with the endings ( and I don't even have the game.....lol. I've just watched the endings on Youtube. I cancelled my preorder for the CE once I saw/read about the endings. At this point, I'm glad I did....... ).

the endings, no matter which choice you choose, provide no real sense of closure to the player. It leaves you with a big WTF feeling, and it's certainly NOT the definitive end to the trilogy they promised us.

im still praying for a second shepard trilogy...next gen xbox releases with me4 as a launch title.... spells $$$ to me.

I want(ed) Shep's story to end with this trilogy. I expected Shep's story to end with ME 3.

if they make another trilogy, I'd like to see a new protagonist ( and a default female one, too. I'm tired of the default hero being male all the time ) set in the future, dealing with the "aftermath" of what my Shep did in her trilogy..........

well, depending on what bioware does with this ending mess really.

i enjoy having a character that is mine. and honestly, there will be ME sequels, and id rather use the character ive built in the universe... now, had this been an epic bad ass ending... then sure id like starting new.

3 games, 100 hours, tons of decisions... the conclusion to this 'journey' should leave people satisfied and have the feeling of 'mission accomplished'. not leaving people confused and angry with a feeling of 'my ass hurts now'.

also, i have a feeling EA is thinking of shep as a icon for this generation... like mario, link, master chief (who is coming back i believe?). maybe against biowares wishes, EA will milk shepard, and mass effect as a whole, as much as they can.

its almost a guarantee we will see more shep. prequel, sequel, w.e.

oh, I agree with you.

if they let ME 3's ending stand as it is now, Bioware almost has no choice but to make more games with Shep, or at least more DLC.

But, if Shep's story is to continue, I'd much rather have a full game ala ME 4 than some expansion pack/DLC.

oh.....and it would have made ME 3's endings more acceptable if Bioware had openly admitted that they've decided not to end the trilogy with ME 3 and continue the story in ME 4.

When you say "default female" would you still be able to customize your character as you see fit?

exactly... i really think EA, or possibly Bioware, decided continuing sheps story would be the best route...and they decided it really late.

well, when last I heard, they are planning on doing a ME movie, starring male Shep (:csad:), based on the story of ME 1. So, I guess we will be seeing alot more of Shep in the future.

although, if the ME movie franchise turns into a trilogy........it better not end like the game trilogy did........lol

Well the movie will pause and the audience will have to yell out which ending they want. :o

and i believe a MMORPG on a next gen console would work with ME... having your own ship and crew... teaming up with other crews and stuff. could be alot of fun. such a delicate territory though.

I hope not. I am so sick of every franchise feeling the need to go into the MMO territory. I mean if they want too, fine whatever, but keep making single player games. The fact that we probably won't ever get another single player KOTOR game saddens me.
