My point is that WB has proven time and time again to have poor judgment with the DC Universe on film. And going by the reaction to the Henry Cavill news, they still do.

I love Henry Cavill as Superman but I think they made the right decision.

I love Henry as Superman too but I'm wondering if it will be the better decision in the long term... No matter how you slice it Henry was the face of this Superman that just didn't resonate with audiences, it was going to be an uphill battle building a new Superman series around him no matter how you slice it.

I still say a decent, lighter superman trailer for a MOS2 with cavil will keep the fans keen - imagine if he interacts with shazam at some point... but i do agree, sometimes its best to cut losses and try something else.

However, it's waiting.... and not knowing.. i've had enough of that.

Yeah it no doubt would have helped. I just could see the MOS2 returns being a little on the softer side, but maybe having longer legs if it was generally received well. Not making a huge splash opening weekend.

That's just my speculation though. I do hope they somehow work it out with Cavill and get started on a MOS sequel development, or maybe rework Supergirl to include him somehow.

I just think if they don't do one with Cavill we could be looking at another 5+ years before they try Superman again and that would just suck as a big fan of the character. Yet with Batman we have three versions of the character within 10 years...

Looks like they will be following the Wonder Woman 1984 production schedule (Spring start and movie coming out November/Fall the following year) Matt Reeves said they’ll start in spring/summer, so I’m guessing November 2020 release date.

To be fair though the meer idea of movie has been gestating for a long time. Ben left the directors chair in January of 2017, so assuming Nov 2020 release date it will have been almost 4 years since he left the directors chair. Not to mention the teasing in 2016 about it.

She also claimed that the Court Of Owls and Penguin are the villains of The Batman. I’m willing to believe that. Cobblepot perfectly fits into a Court of Owls storyline considering his family’s history in Gotham. Maybe Cobblepot and Bruce Wayne will both be courted by the Court.

Is Jack Huston being considered for Lincoln March instead of Harvey Dent?
