If they start making the character more serious like the comics, the replacement will probably have an easier job being passed the job, since he can then go with a different interpretation, instead of having to copy the comedic routine that works so well with RDJ, right now he's pretty much like Jack Sparrow, he has definted the role so much that it's near impossible to get a replacement.

Fortunately, he seems very grateful for what Marvel has done for him, it seems like what compels him to not accept the role anymore has more to do with his age than his dislike for it or preference to play other roles.

Marvel have announced a 3rd movie for 2018 for May 4

Whoa!

Increases the chances of Inhumans, Black Panther and Ms. Marvel.

I'm thinking that it's Avengers 3. Avengers was released on May 4th, 2012 and AOU is coming on May 1st, 2015, so it fits.

Maybe... but I'm rooting with kosh, hoping for a longer phase (2015 to 2019).

I think Black Panther as one of those movies is pretty much guaranteed at this point.

Pretty much has to be. Taking into account TA3, Thor 3, Dr. Strange, and separate GotG and Hulk sequels, we still have 3 unaccounted for slots. 4 if that GotG+Hulk thing ends up not being bogus.

Unless they throw us for a loop by announcing a Howard the Duck reboot.

Yup. There's is no doubt in my mind that Avengers 3 will be released on May 4, 2018. That gives us 7 films in Phase 3, including the third Avengers film. That's the most in any phase so far!

I also think that gives Marvel a good stopping point as far as revealing film titles on Saturday at SDCC. I don't think we're getting a name to put to any release date past May 2018.

Man, this is so exciting... 7 new films to be announced. I wonder what the subtitles for the next sequels are going to be...

And then there's the question as to what comes in Phase 4...so many cool things...

At this rate, with all these film slots, we just might get Squirrel Girl before too long... :o:oldrazz:

But seriously, I don't think we'll even get titles through 2017. (Go ahead, Marvel, and prove me wrong!)

I just realized, there are now more films in the MCU's future than there are in it's past -- and that's even with counting GotG as already "past". GotG is the tenth film, and, starting with Age of Ultron, there are 11 upcoming films.

I hope we'll get more announcements for slots for 2016. I don't want to wait until 2017 for 3 movies a year. Hopefully there will be something in November 2016.

You want even more Marvels?!?!!

Director: Edward Zwick (Blood Diamond)

I hope the do casting calls with a lot of unknown African males for the lead, a few established black actors for supporting rolls, a 150 mil budget, and release during black history month just because.

I want an unknown for the lead because I hate how established stars want to stay unmasked all the time and thats something I don't want to happen with Black Panther.

For Black Panther I think there will be calls for a Director of Color to direct.

This explains the delay in announcing the new 2018 date.

The move came hours after Sony undated "Amazing Spider-Man 3" and "Amazing Spider-Man 4," previously set for release on June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018, respectively.

I think 3 movies a year is enough. Whereas Marvel fans themselves may want more and more, you need to think about the GA who will also be seeing DC, X-Men, & Spidey flicks too. Plus whatever's on TV (Flash, Arrow, Gotham, SHIELD, Netflix shows, etc.)
