MCU: The Marvel Cinematic Universe Official Discussion - Part 3

Given that Netflix will bring us Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in their own shows, I hope that Marvel will also decide to take similar route with Moon Knight, Punisher, Blade, Ghost Rider and maybe Cloak & Dagger (since I heard that the rights belong to MS). They could even create a second generation of The Defenders with these characters listed above.

Is anyone else excited about the fact that other than Civil War and Black Panther, all the Phase 3 films potentially look like they could take place off earth partially?

That's a really interesting point! They will have to, huh? Well, depending on where they set Attilan.

A (potential) ally to Luke, Jessica, Danny and Matt has been added:

Definitely think there will be more than four Defender's in the miniseries. Everyone just won't have their own show.

Yup, makes sense. It's why I was hoping Dawson was Misty Knight, when her character was being kept secret for some reason. Thought she could slip in and out of each of the four individual series, and finally join up with the Defenders.

I still want to know more about Zak Penn's drafts of Avengers. It's just, I want to read the script that Joss Whedon took back to Feige and said, "You don't have anything."

They've recently revealed that Hellcat will appear in Jessica Jones' show so I can see her returning in The Defenders.

Hope they don't waste Ejiofor in some thankless sidekick role. Too talented that for that crap.

I think they have another actress in mind to play Misty Knight if she ever shows up.

Strangely, we have not heard Marvel talk to any black actresses for any roles in the MCU outside of Dawson and Zoe Saldana, although I do remember Rashida Jones being linked to Ant Man at one point. I expect that will change very soon.

If Misty is a character in the MCU, then every black actress between 25-40 in Hollywood will be linked. It will likely be someone we know.

I would not be at all completely surprised if the actress who does not become Misty Knight becomes Shuri in Black Panther depending on which one comes first (BP or Iron Fist).

I think he could be Brother Voodoo, who would be more of an ally (Dr. Strange goes to New Orleans to seek his help) rather than as a sidekick.

This feels pretty likely to happen.

I wish they would have kept it in November. It follows too quickly behind Age of Ultron. Now I'm going to have nothing to look forward to between August and December.
I had the same thoughts. By the time I see AoU it will have been a LONG wait. I preferred the 6 month period like they did with IM3 - TDW - TWS

Thankfully, we'll get to that 3 film a year schedule soon enough.

Does any information exist for Zak Penn's Avengers script?

I've searched all around for info on it, and unfortunately very little exists. It's a shame, it'd certainly be an interesting read.

I remember something about the hulk fighting the entire team.

Such a great man. Hopefully he returns for RAGNAROK. Otherwise, I want more Shakespeare from him. Like King Lear. He's old enough now.
