I keep forgetting Captain Marvel is in the middle of the IW films.
Sure, just call it LANCE or SPEAR, instead. Introduce an Abigal Brand type character but give her purple hair instead of green. Seriously, I just want FOX to die so there wouldn't be all of these restrictions.
what was the acronym they used for Roz's Anti-Inhumans organisation yesterday? Alien Threat Counter Unit or something? ATCU? maybe they can transform them into a SWORD like organisation.Anybody else think the MCU version of NASA might just be the equivalent of SWORD at this point (IF Marvel doesn't have the rights to SWORD, that is)?
ExactlyNowhere in the interviews did Feige say that they won't produce any Cap moviesafter CW, as far as I recall. He just said that one will look at TFA, TWS and CW as a trilogy.
I looked at Star Wars as a trilogy, and here we are, movie number 7 will hit theatres soon. At one time Indiana Jones was a trilogy, yet a 4th movie, while a loud majority didn't like it, was IMO better than Temple Of Doom. Alien was considered a trilogy once, yet we have Alien 5 AND Alien: Paradise Lost coming out...
Evans will always be Cap to me... and as long as Agent Carter lasts more than 2 seasons, Atwell will always be Peggy to me.You know, Marvel has not fail in the casting department yet. To me, every actor/actress they cast thus far in the MCU, is so damn perfect - top notch. It'll be interesting down the road how they'll fit with every other character. I hate the idea of recasting, big no no for me cause I find it jarring to watch a different actor trying to play the same role that someone else played no matter how good they were in it. I hope that doesn't happen to anyone in the MCU. I love it. I love what marvel is doing. I cant wait next year with Civil War and Dr Strange.

okay okay, I should have also put in that there are some casting that felt out of place...here's my take...
I didn't mind Portman as Jane in the first thor movie but after TDW, I wasn't impressed with her performance at all. Been reading some articles about at least 5 actors who hate being part of the MCU and they were, Natalie Portman, Terrance Howard, Edward Norton, Micky Rourke, Idris Elba. I knew from the get go that Portman didn't want to be as much involved with Marvel because of what went on during production of Thor 2...Even before she was casted in Thor, I lost respect of her since the SW prequels. Mind you, she was fine in Thor but yeah...I don't think I have to go into too much detail on Norton, I do respect him as an actor and all but I just wish things had worked out between him and Marvel when they were going to do The Avengers. talk about a miss opportunity...Sad he left but it was probably for the best anyway. As for the rest, well, I don't really care...other than the fact that it had to do with $$$ and that certain scenes were left on the cutting room floor.
Any other problems I don't know of? cause I don't know any other actor who hates being part of the MCU other than those 5 I mentioned. I know some will get screwed over but my point of view is this, if Marvel's choices were for the right reasons and the actor/actress didn't like them and they start making a huge fuss out of it, to me, that's not good. very unprofessional on their part. Maybe then at the time when they got the script and read it, they thought it was a good idea to be a part of the MCU. I just think that why bother now? If they don't like it, they can leave. There's the door. Marvel should really be careful on who they cast and I think so far, they've done that. Cause I hate it when others hate on Marvel, not just by fans but the actors themselves. I mean, I can understand why but again, of all the comments I've read, its...harsh. Not nice. the way I look at it, why be part of something in the first place if you have a change of heart now? There goes your contract out the window. If I were to say to Marvel, I'd do away with Jane. Forget about her. Throw in a much more compelling actress and a better character from the Thor comics into the mix, then I'd be able to forget Portman was ever a part of the MCU. And yes, Don Cheadle should have been casted initially instead of Howard.
I was on IGN today and read some bad comments about Cumberbatch being Dr Strange, how rudesaying he's a bad actor and terrible choice for the role. like have they really seen the movie yet? gawd...seriously. I'm not worried. Are any of you?
Okay...and I just wanted to say...that I used to be a fan of Portman outside of the Star Wars prequels. If it hadn't been for Lucas directing those prequels, I'm sure we would have gotten a better version of what could have happen...I know its not their fault when it comes to acting but some people have to be careful what they say. Otherwise it rubs others the wrong way... Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to put down Portman, I know she's capable and where her acting chops lie but Star Wars, I'm sorry...wasn't her real true strength. Like I said, I love Thor and I had no problem with Portman in it but while I too enjoyed Thor 2, it could have been so much better. The last thing I want to see is how Thor 3 is going to end and trust me, I don't want to see it end in the same light as the Star Wars Prequels. I want the Thor 3 to end the trilogy in a way that it finishes off in a really strong tone...
The problem with Marvel not being able to hold onto a director/writer is that if they can't see eye to eye, they're not going to make things work together. They have to be on the same page to make it work and come together as a team. Once they release the movie and it doesn't do well, well, it goes to show that Marvel and 'Team' had no chemistry. Nothing. It was a wasted effort. And I hate to see that happen for future releases and especially for the future of the MCU.
Would you allow yourself to hate Kevin Feige purely because he was heavily involved with X-Men: The Last Stand and Ang Lee's Hulk? I thought not. Also, everyone in the Prequels looked bad, not just Portman. Even Nick Fury himself, Samuel. L. Jackson, hardly gave a strong performance in those movies.
Finally, your comparison between Thor 3 and the Prequels is irrelevant since the last time I checked, George Lucas isn't directing any Marvel movies anytime soon.
I doubt they're going to retired the big three entirely, but they also have other characters who will potentialy gain as much momentum, the Guardians of the Galaxy film series is probably going to last longuer than a trilogy if James Gunn get's what he wants, Spider-Man is definitely going to be a mid-to-heavy hitter, even if Marvel only get money from the merchandising he sells, and then you also have franchises that Marvel will probably make sure to be big, like Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Captain Marvel.
If they need to, i could see them bringing back the Iron Man film series, possibly even inserting heroes like Captain America in there.
